  • sheeeeeeet just bought the one from david jones like 3 days ago. damn you amazon!

  • +3

Very close to the lowest price 269.4 if you count Philips cashback, cashrewards cashback, discount Amazon gift card. The final price would be around 274.4

Question is will Amazon do 269.4 on black friday again? In that case, price could reduce further like low 200.

    • +3

Buy it now with a price protection credit card. I am pretty sure there is more room for it to drop. You might get a pretty good deal as they don't consider cashback for price protection.

      • -1

If you want the lower price, you are going to use discount gift card, not credit card.

        • If you are confident that it is a rock bottom price then yes, which is not the case here. You might save 5% with gift cards here but with price protection credit cards you can possibly get $100~ish back. You also get other benefits such as extended warranty/accident protection.

      • Recommend any specific CC's with price protection?

Or just sign up to any during a qantas super points promotions thingo?

    • If cashrewards only 7.5% then the final price should upper a little.

Where is the link to the cashback… Nothing mentioned on Amazon page, weird

    • In the front page
"Receive $50 Cash Back via redemption from Philips
with the purchase of eligible Philips products sold by Amazon AU. Promotion ends December 24th 11:59 PM, 2020. T&Cs apply. "

  • Bought the white one earlier this year, love it! Already wanting to upgrade but I gotta hold on for a few years to get my money's worth.

  • I got this model and its sooooooo good.

I literally use it for everything nowadays.

Air frying fries within 8 mins is so good !

No need to oil or heating up the oven.

    • For a place without air conditioning does it give off a lot of heat externally?

      • +1

Nope, we’ll insulated. Can barely feel the heat even when on.

      • +3

It does a bit with roast pork. But the great thing about this unit is you can run an extension cord and have it fry on the balcony or out the back yard.

    • Just 8? How many grams of frozen chips? You need to pre heat the air fryer first, right?

      • Sorry I meant after pre heating at 200 degrees for 5 mins. Then I do 8mins at 200 degrees with a bit of shaking it at bit half way through.

i would say about 200-300 grams worth of chips

        • I don’t think there’s a need to pre heat with airfryers. That’s one of its benefits over conventional ovens. I never pre heat

          • +1

@Phil22: I think it also depends on the type of food. Pre-heating will yield more consistent and predictable results.

      • +1

With same amount of chips, I find that the Philips without pre-heat will cook to the same result with Kmart air fryer with 3 mins pre-heat.

But 8 mins… must be a small portion, or a different type of fries? It usually takes 15mins on mine for frozen fries pack.

    • What's the catch. There must be something.

  • Just bought it a week ago from TheGoodGuys. Missed out on 10% off from GG first and now this :(

Actually mine was Digital smart, glad that’s not on sale :)

  • gonna pass and hopefully we get a better deal on BF

  • Isn't cashrewards just 7.5%?

  • Goddamit just bought this exact model from TGG on the weekend. FML.

  • +1

To wait or not to wait…

    • Buy on credit card, so when BF comes, claim price protection if cheaper.. Also with doubling up on cashback.

  • Thought the white was cheaper too but it's the old model

    • +2

White is not eligible for Philips cashback

  • Where do you get the discounted amazon gift card?

  • Isn't 1.4kg too small?

Depends on how much of a fat bastard you are, or how many you are cooking for…

So tempted but I want the HD9861/99.

whats the difference besides the shelf?

      • I think it’s just the Smart Sensing technology.

out of stock. was just about to buy it :(

    Good price, but…

I returned the one I bought last month at $350. The left side of the door doesn't fully close, after a week the gap widen and I can feel the heat coming out of that side, lots of complains from other users on the same problem so definitely inspect yours carefully. It's also loud! Louder than my range hood going full blast, or even louder compares a Dreame v9 vacuum! And there's white smoke coming out when cooking some vegies which the Kmart air fryer cooks without issue.

  • OOS now

  • Dammit, I was just trying to get Cashrewards sorted and logging in to purchase! :(

    • My suggestion is keep it in your cart and check tomorrow afternoon, their price always fluctuates.

  • How is it $369? it's showing me $497 when I click the link..

  • Noooo missed out

  • Dont be sad, the KMART one does just the same for a fraction of the price. There is no difference…

    • im interested…. is it easy to clean?

      link?

We have this one. Works perfectly, easy to clean and its way cheaper. Use it a new times a week.

I agree completely. I've used two different Philips Airfryers, a generic ONYX brand $59 one from Coles, and now own that exact Kmart $89 model.

          They all produced identical results.

The only slight improvement was one of the Philips models had rails to hold the slide-out drawer, which was convenient, but certainly not worth the extra ~$300.

Also after years of repairing faulty touch panels - and sometimes scrapping mechanically good devices with unfixable touch panels - I absolutely loathe anything with completely unnecessary touch panels. If you've never used any of the preprogrammed functions on your microwave oven, you're unlikely to use them on the Philips Airfryer. It also takes longer to press multiple buttons than it does to turn one knob, plus if non technically inclined family and friends visit you don't have to waste ten minutes trying to explain what the mostly incomprehensible hieroglyphics mean for each button.

The Kmart cooker has beautiful big control knobs and makes a loud 'ding' noise when the timer runs out. The tray is non-stick and extremely easy to clean. Only issue I had was a plasticy smell when first opening the box, which a few days to completely dissipate.

Choice magazine recently rated a Kmart fryer very poorly, but unfortunately they only tested the touch-panel version, so I can understand the disappointment.

@greenie4242: Thanks for this, bought the Kmart machine, its done me well but always wonder if I made the right decision.

  • Received the notification from Shopback and the cashback reward is $25.16… it makes the final price $293.84 pending on the $50 Philips cashback.

Although, anyone knows how $25.16 was calculated?

    • Apologies, i didn't realize it was 7.50% not 10% as indicated by

No need to apologize ☺️. I had expected that it will be 7.5%. I just couldn't figure out how the $25.16 CB was calculated by Shopback.

I thought it would be (369-36.9)*7.5% = 24.91 but anyways, more is better than less :)

Thank you OP. This is the early Christmas gift for the misses.
