Dictation’s built into the OS, what’s this supposed to do that makes it worth using?

  but is it truly "built in"? .. If it records what we say, sends it to apple servers to be tagged to our account (and saved), translated and then sent back as text (vs old days of dragon dictate that did it locally IN the software itself) .. is it really "built in" to the software anymore?
