It is a cheap deal.
This bundle plus postage (8-16 days) is around $340.

In Australia,it is hard to buy a 320GB console for less than $350.

Only one thing there,I want to mention is about DVD/BD code restriction.
PS3 BD games are all region free.
But DVD/BD have US code.

Make sure DVD/BD are US code or all region code.

Cheers

  • They never used to ship that sort of item over here.

  • roughly $8 to get it quicker (cant believe they will send a ps3 but not a box of lucky charms lol)

What about power requirements? Does the ps3 have 240v compatible switching power supply?

    • +1

Just swap the power cord with any Aussie figure 8 power cord

Region B blu ray movies will not work on this, you will have to get your blu ray movies from USA.

  • This deal isn't any good when you can't play any Blu-ray movie from Australian store.

    • -1

      most blu-rays are region free

      • +1

Not sure if that is true.

Why would you be upset about $40 Aussie Blu-ray not working? You can get the same Blu-ray cheaper from Amazon. Do you hate your money so much?

      • +2

Getting a non-AU region locked device is a massive pain in the ass… You can't buy anything locally, have to check if any are region-free, and you can't rent or swap any.

        TL,DR; his point is valid.

      • I agree, it eliminates you from renting blu rays, borrowing from friends, buying secondhand. Add constantly have to check compatibility etc. Having a US PS3 would be a major PITA, especially to save $40.

        • a US ps3 is only a good option as 2nd ps3, If you cant afford one that doesnt make it not a deal

Yes the price on the item itself is cheap, but personally I'd be more inclined to get the HN Value bundle for $389 (320Gb + Uncharted3 + Wolverine bluray).
By the time you mess around with this, paying $348 (extra $8 for express shipping), then locate and buy an Aussie cable or power plug adaptor, and have to order in all your movies from the US, the extra $41 to just drop in to your local HN, pick one up take it home right away would be well worth it (and you get an awful movie to watch as a bonus! :))

    • no warranty
    • won't play Australian movies
      No deal Eddie
      Better of getting 160 ps3 for $288 & uc $78
      Will work out the same

Bu bu but. The PS3 box has Drake on it :(

  • My colleague got a 320GB PS3 + 2 controller + 3 games [ FIFA 12 , Uncharted 3 and can't remember what else] for $498 from JB hifi.
I think that's cheaper than this deal ?

    • So your friend paid $210 in bundled "value" on top of the $288 PS3 160 GB.
With $210 you could afford a significant hard drive upgrade and choose the extras you want, although I could not justify a hard drive upgrade.
