I've just had a headlight globe blow so I need to replace.
And it turns out, that has opened pandora's box - LED, Halogen, HID, too bright, not bright enough, doesnt last long, doesnt work in the wet, etc etc.
Does anyone have any recommendations for good globes for this situation:
- Fitting: H11
- Vehicle: Subaru XV MY16
I would like something a bit brighter than stock I suppose, but not if I need to replace every year.
If you want brighter they don't last as long, that's just the way it works. Brighter, hotter, burns out quicker. How long they last depends on how much you use them. I've got 3 years so far on my Philips +60s
You can get brighter LED or HID but fitting them isn't road legal. Unlikely you'll get fined for it but insurance companies look for any excuse they can to deny a claim so if it happens at night you could be handing them an excuse. Also expect to get flash a lot by other people.
Personally I stick with name brands and usually one of their +x% versions.
