2013 Corryton Park produced some purely varietal cabernet wines, deep plum in colour and richly perfumed with aromas of blackcurrant, confectionary spearmint leaves, cedar wood characters and woody spice with underlying aromas of pine needle, vanilla and subtle char with hints of licorice and new leather. The palate is surprisingly soft for cabernet; a fleshy, juicy cabernet with refined tannins and acidity. A complex wine with great length and balance, the 2013 Corryton Park will confidently develop with careful cellaring for up to 10 years.
95 Gold Points James Halliday
"Has retained an utterly exceptional crimson-purple hue. Matured in French oak for 20 months, it comes from the vineyard purchased by Grant Burge in '99 in one of the highest and coolest points of the Barossa Valley. It reflects its place, cassis intermingling with dried bay leaf and the barest hint of mint."
