  • any warranty at all?

  • Any experience with this item? I'm not quite convinced yet that it's any better than a decent tefal.

    • yes some feedback from here would be nice.

Is this good for cooking steak?

      • +3

It's a nonstick pan. Steaks require a high temperature to achieve a sear, but high temperatures will burn the nonstick coating. So you can either have a steak with no sear, or pick a cast iron pan.

        • Great thanks for info. Will watch out for a cast iron pan

Second what willyslicks says. I personally only use cast iron and carbon steel for searing and high temperature cooking. A non stick for me is destined for low temperature saute and cooking things like pasta.

I'm even frying eggs in carbon steel now, I don't really use nonstick at all.

My only experience with ceramic cooking is with the korean dolsot bowls which take ages to heat up but retain a crapton of heat. Also burns rice but that's the point

As odd as it sounds, I find a wok excellent for cooking steak. Crust is formed as early as 2 minutes.

3 min then flip, 2 min on the other side. Perfect steak everytime. Just make sure you wait till the wok is scary hot before dropping your steak.

        • Innovation at it's best

        • Most if not all woks are carbon steel so thumbs up.

Only thing is woks don't tend to retain heat that well so evenness is a challenge

    • +1

I am not convinced that a decent tefal nowadays is any healthier than previous tefal they stopped producing.
