[Back Order] Samsung 75" Series 8 Q80T QLED UHD 4K TV QA75Q80TAWXXY $3448 Delivered @ Powerland

30

Looking for a bigger tv to replace the 65in X95G.

Found 2 similar priced deals, this one at powerland (orders not shipping until Dec) with free delivery. Cheaper than the $3599 deal.

Other one is https://www.appliancecentral.com.au/televisions/qled-tvs/qa7… $3440 + $165 delivery but available now.

I already had an order in for a fridge at hardly normal with delivery arranged next week, so I called them up and they price matched $3440 for me, free delivery.

Upgrade from 65" to 85", not worth to do to for 75"

    • Replace, not upgrade as such. All because no timeshift or USB record in the sony. First world problems

  • This or the Sony X9500H?

    • This has HDMI 2.1 and is 120hz.

      • So does Sony on 2 ports except it has some blur issue at that refresh rate apparently. (not sure if its fixable with firmware or have any details on it apart from snippets here and there)…

I believe the Sammy's have 1 port dedicated to HDMI 2.1 .. and only the top end OLED LG have all 4.. then its the Nano panels with 2 which aren't as good as the Sony and this picture wise..

The HDMI 2.1 thing is pretty disappointing but all the TV manufacturers will get it right soon enough lol

        • You're confusing the x95h with the x90h

          • @iMagoo: yes.. yes iam.. i read it as 9000H :) my bad

IMO the Sony has a better picture. I was tossing up between the Samsung Q80T and X90H. Sammy has better reflection + viewing angle, sound, black frame and input lag. The Sony is better in almost every PQ metric. Game mode on the Samsung is trash apparently, with local dimming issues. No HDMI 2.1 or VRR on the Sony X95H though.

I ended up going the X9000H as it had a great picture and future proofing with HDMI 2.1

      • you get any of this blur thing? because that was going to the tv i was going ot get for the gaming console and pc setup …

        • Still waiting for RTX3080 stock

Just FYI, TVs should be covered for 5 years of life under ACL. It might take a bit of pushing but either the store you purchased from or the manufacturer will come around if you have issues and persist they fix them.

      • Thanks mate. How do you do that? Can you please point me to it? I could not find anything under ACL mentioning 5 years warranty and samsung website clearly mentions 12 months warranty

You have to explain to them that the reasonable life of a television set is 5 8 years. We had a Samsung TV break two years ago, called Samsung, they offered a replacement without any questions, it was about 4 years old at the time.

Here's a court case between an individual and Panasonic for a $1350 television set. The ruling deemed the reasonable life of the unit to be 8 years and that is for a pretty low range TV, based on price and the applicant was awarded $1084.

But yeah, it's just something worth being aware of. It applies to everything you purchase. You're covered for the reasonable life of a product. I've had MacBooks break down 2-3 years in and Apple has repaired them at no cost with very little discussion. Just stand your ground, be polite and state to them that it didn't last a reasonable period of time before failing. Worst case you could threaten them with VCAT (whatever state tribunal is available to you) and provide the above ruling to substantiate your claims.

@no not me: Appreciate the detailed reply mate. Stay blessed.

    • Do you have a screenshot / receipt you are able to DM me with?

      • Mate, I showed them that Appliances Central is doing at around $3400 price mark and the JB rep offered me this. Will be buying hopefully one this week.

Bought this same 5 month ago from the Samsung portal, few things that's annoying:
    -Screen Glare is quite apparent.
-Bluetooth headphone audio is really really faint even at highest volume.
-Inbuilt media player is somewhat limited compared to VLC etc. but I couldn't find VLC in their App Store.
(I stream a lot from my NAS)
-occasionally, I feel the screen could be brighter.

If you don't need 75, Q90T or LG CX is probably better as that's similar price to this.
