  • wth…. even these sorts of services are now on ozbargain??

  • +1

How long do you need to keep using them for? Is it a permanent thing or would I only need to use them for a set amount of time?

Generally the medications like minoxidil are use every day. I haven't checked what's in this though.

If Jeff Bezos can't regrow hair…. well you know the rest.

Jeff Bezos discovered people find him attractive as is. Nobody knows why though. :)

  • So you can buy prescription meds that are prescribed by a doctor online - without a prescription now?
Legal and legit service at its finest /s

Edit: so apparently to get a “consult” with a doctor online now. Don’t know which self respecting doctor would do that - for some shady service like this.

There are a handful of medications that can be prescribed online for conditions such as Erectile Dysfunction, Hair Loss, Contraception, Period Delay, Acid Reflux, Weight Loss, Asthma, Acne, Malaria Tablets.

    'Ultimate treatment'

    That's quite a bald statement…

  • I thought about using minoxidil on my front hairline, but then applying it twice a day for the next 40 years just seems like a real pain in the ass 😬

If you see a doctor, that's free. Using the prescription, you buy finasteride 5mg which is $30 for 30 tablets, which can be broken into 5 bits each yielding 150 tablets, so in effect $30 will last you 5 months. Or $6 per month. I don't see why anyone would be stupid enough to pay $70 per month for this. It wouldn't be ozbargain but ozloser.

      • Minoxidil.

Finasteride & Minoxodil seem to work best as a combination vs either one alone.

Couldn't agree with you more, 5mg finasteride cut into pieces is pretty economical and has been a life saver for me

    • Do NOT cut finasteride into pieces. It may be unevenly distributed amongst the pill, assuming homogeneity is a mistake.

Finasteride generic 1mg is like $20/month at CWH, no pill cutting required.

It's only the name brand that is >70$/month

Also side note, you need to have an enlarged prostate to get 5mg prescription……

I have to say, I have heard this before but it doesn't ring true. The manufacturer won't be sprinkling/mixing 5mg of active pharmaceutical ingredient to each individual tablet… much like smarties aren't made individually. The mixture will be made in a well-mixed large batch…

Anywho, the generic is under $20 a month so might not be worth the time to some.

        • Yeah I wouldn't expect it to be not mixed well but it can and does happen, it's just an extra unnecessary risk to me.

Agree, just go to a bill billing doctor and get generic proscar (Finesteride), cost out cheap as you say. Good luck breaking into 5 haha. Just quarters is fine with a pill cutter and roughly 1mg per day. Easy

Couldn't imagine putting that rogaine stuff on your head twice a day but apparently does something.

Even though MPB isn't the primary use for finesteride, almost every Dr I've been to is happy to prescribe it, no problems but YMMV.
