Just saw this on the Vodafone. Online only special. I think it used to be $29/month with $5/month handset cost, but now its just $29/month. Very tempted!

Also includes one months free access which takes the total cost to 667

Do you know if it works on the new 850mhz network?

    • +1

      It says its 850mhz ready.

How much is this phone outright? I like the 12 month $49 + 20 plan (total cost $828) since you get a decent data cap and call spend. Thoughts?

      Optus variant prepaid RRP $299

      • -1

A quick search is showing $450 as the cheapest price, where are you seeing a similar specced phone for $299?

You must be thinking of the Incredible S.

That is actually very tempting. But only 200mb data included and 50c per mb for excess data is a killer! Anyone know how to control this in the Android OS?

    • There are apps to disable / enable your 3G connection at will (such as APN OnOff), so you only use it when you want to. I currently do this on my phone and it works great. I would recommend however getting a bigger data plan, 200mb is peanuts these days!

buy a browsing pack and avoid the bill shock

    • internet packs on a 12month contract are only $4 extra for 700mb, i'd suggest that

Seems Crazy Johns do this phone for $25 per month over 24 months with 400mb of included data. http://www.crazyjohns.com.au/htc-sensation/

    • My contract's up next month and this is great news! Thanks for the link. Crazy Johns also have many other good phones like the Sony Xperia Arc for the same price so it's going to be a tough decision!

    • Great deal, can you get a free unlock for that?

      • I know that with Vodafone you can unlock the phones for free. i imagine that crazy johns would do the same!

    • just look out for the call costs and inclusions with crazy john's

I think Neg'ing for Vodafone isn't applicable any more .. Damn .. I've had more issues with Optus lately than I have with Vodafone .. and that's testing both at the same time (2 phones)

Most of the time .. dealings with customer service are minimal .. so why should this be a neg item ?

Looks like you're the one getting Neg'ed for your Neg'ing ;)

      • And you're getting negged for negging someone for their neg. :(

Outright pricing for the sensation has dropped because of issues mentioned above and newer handsets like Sensation XL and Sensation XE.So this deal is nothing special.

It was $5/month on Cap 29 only earlier this month.

Check xDEFiNE's comment though — a good analysis on this deal vs buying outright + LiveConnected.

  • Moneybackco works for this deal?

    • I think so.

I don't get how this is a great deal. Vodafone has the galaxy s2 for $708 over 12 months on the 29 cap (as per previous posts). Can't neg because this deal is ahead by a few dollars and gives you an extra year worth of on plan calls. but to my mind the galaxy is a better phone and not so far out of the league to be thinking of as an alternative.

It's great that the price has dropped, if only partly due to problems, but the dust under the screen was fixed way back in August. So it's really not a problem now.
