10W is paltry slow for phones. I don't know why people bother with wireless charging when plugging a cable isn't even that hard to do, charges phone way faster and incurs way less heat.

Like anything, they do it for convenience

I love my wireless charger - just put it on the cradle at night, no need for wires.

Strongly disagree. I've been using wireless charging stands for the last ~4years. It's bloody convenient and easy enough to place, have it face me and charge while I'm at my desk and easy enough to quickly grab and go. The point of wireless charging is not for speed but convenience.

it means anyone in my household and guests can charge their phone. Andriod or apple it doesnt matter, they all conveniently work.

      • yeap I'm about to build a little shelf behind out couch and put a wireless charger in it. That way I or my Wife can charge our phones, Android and iPhone without the need of different cables.

    • I’ve got four of these. They’re great

Ironically, wireless charging is the least convenient charging option, as you can move your phone around whilst using it.

    • get a dock, problem solved 60% lol

Got this 10W last year on a deal for around +$18 which works quite well.

No offence op but I wouldn’t trust any electronics from Kmart. :)

Some of their electronics are actually pretty decent. The USB-C wall power plug is good for $10.

      • And you dont have problem with Kogan , i would buy from Kmart from Kogan just for the sake of easy returns and both would have made in same factory

  • I never got the point of wireless charging, it's so slow and lossy. It took me longer to try and align the damn thing than to plug in a cable. Really need a multi coil to make it more "convenient"

    • try 15w, you will see the difference!

      • I saw the difference when I went back to 25w on a cable

        • Lol I am talking about wireless charger and not cable. Cable will always charge fatester.

    • Charging faster is meant to be bad for the battery in the long run compared to charging slowly. But wireless charging causes more heat for a given charge rate as well, so not sure which is actually worse at a given wattage of charging.

Probably wise to have the charger beside the bed be a slow charge though, and have a faster charger elsewhere for when you need to top up quickly before heading out

  • I'm wary of wireless charging after having a Cygnett 5w wireless charger that just overheated and fried itself - do they all heat up so much? Does anyone have experience with this model?

  • Bought this a few weeks ago, happy with it so far. https://www.kmart.com.au/product/2-in-1-5w-wireless-charging…
