I ended up cancelling and ordering the PS4 version instead. Delivery is now 17th-30th.
Figured it may be easier to sell if I hate the game as anyone with PS4 or PS5 can use it.
Plus, there's a voice in my head insisting that something is going to go wrong next week and I'll end up not get my PS5 for months.

@handles1: I considered that, but I won't be able to pick it up on launch day anyway. Am barely going to have time before work for the 40min round trip to pick up the PS5 from Target. I've got other things to play and no nights off until the 16th anyway so I'll just be patient.
Besides, I used a discounted gift card for the amazon order, so may as well stick with that.

You're unlikely to get this one this year from any Australian retailer, you're best bet would be Amazon for a second wave before xmas.

Pretty sure JB has as well. I'd be surprised if Big W and Target get anymore before xmas, for some reason I thought they had done post as well but you might be right.
@Sidog: I didn't think JB had, maybe for Xbox Series. But as far as I'm aware, for PS5, JB pre-orders were open for about 90 min from 9:00am to 10:30am AEST and all those orders have been confirmed as launch day.
@sween64: Nah JB was a cluster (profanity), they left it open most of the day for ps5 and nobody knew what they're wave they were ordering. I follow a Aussie PS5 page on Facebook, almost certain JB has done post launch as well.

It doesn't seem like we will see more until next year. If we get lucky there might be shipments before then. But demand is massively outstripping supply.

This right here should tell you to not even consider the digital edition console, otherwise you are locked into the PSN which barely has a sale until later on after launch. You want a game day1? A$32 extra for just this one game.
I prefer digital, tired of swapping discs and would choose digital over ability to trade, but I will not pay extra for it.
Yup physical is the best way to go, you save so much. Even if you don't want discs you should still go physical because of the off chance you want a disc game because it's on sale, if you go discless you're stuck with that for the next 7 years.

The PS4 version can be played on the PS4 and the PS5.
The PS5 version can only be played on the PS5.
The covers are different.
If you have the PS4 version and want to upgrade to the PS5 version you will likely have to download more data than if you had the PS5 version.
Applicable only to some games, AC:V included, save files don’t transfer from the PS4 version to the PS5 version.
