The obvious answer is no, but when were they last $395? 10 years ago? So a reasonable increase is fair. They’d want to be very brave going any higher than they are now though because then they’re in high end English shoe territory, where they don’t match either the quality nor the style.

Well it’s sad that they are unaffordable for many because they’re probably cheaper in the long run. Mine are a year old and still like new (apart from creasing). A $150 pair of Myer shoes would be falling apart by now.

Compared to running shoes at $150 - 200 that die after 1 - 2 years, anything under $500 for 10 - 20 years seems reasonable? I alternate 2 pairs most days for the past 6 years, 1 rubber sole replaced FOC as it tore at the toe and some heel wear, otherwise doing great.
