  • Does anyone know the 2.5G WAN can be used for LAN? Thanks.

    Not enough antennas!

    • 8 is a lucky number though

      • Yeah, how do I fit one in the middle??

    • WIFI 6 needs multiple antennas.

Any reviews on this for Gigabit connections?

AXE is around the corner to deliver 6e.

Asus have a model coming out in December 2020.

  • Anyone knows which one should I choose? Asus Ax88u or this one Tp-link AX11000. We have the max transfer rate is up to 100M/s. do they have lots of differences?

    • These are the two modems I'm debating over also…

I am now stuck at which brand I shoould choose. Asus or Tp-link?

They both have the same Broadcom 64bit quadcore CPU. One is dual and the other tri-band. The issue I have with TP-LINK vs Asus is firmware updates. I switched from a high end TP-LINK AC router to two Asus AX Routers in a mesh setup, simply because the firmware hadn't been upgraded for ages on the TP-LINK. The CPU in the routers is exactly the same. The TP-Link was reliable and was able to achive 700mbs+ on my NBN setup.

          • @shellshocked: thanks very much Mate. Its' really helpful review.

          • @shellshocked: Yeah this was one of my concerns. I've heard numerous reports about Asus firmware being updated more frequently and the browser/app UI is much cleaner.

  • asus could be meshed.

  • My tech heart stopped for a moment when I saw AX11000 for $449, then started beating again when I realised it's a tplink one. Recently bought TP-Link AX50 and Asus AX86U 😅 if this was an Asus AX11000 I'd be 'i want it!'

    • Fo sure. But do you think Tp-Link ax11000 will be better than AX88u? Even these two not on the same level.

From my personal experiences, I'd go Asus since I find them more reliable and stable than TP-Link when it comes to hardware and firmware.

When it comes to better, it depends on your use case. In my case, I need to constantly stream data between two local devices with the best latency (no spikes <5ms), so I'm not going to compromise on price to achieve that. I'm not sure how TP-LINK goes for their higher end products, I saw them as an affordable/budget option which may not have perfect results, but works.

  • That isn't just a router - it's a crown for the King of the Internet.
