Resident of Newcastle will drive to Sydney then fly to Cairns, is it OK to go this flight route according to Virus rules.

You can, as long as you drive to the airport with limited stops and don't live in a hotspot.

Parking at Sydney is a hell of a lot more expensive than Newcastle. Plus its at least a 2 hour drive.
Flying to Brisbane and doing a changeover there would be less stressful.
And you wont get caught out if rules change as they may.
Then again just fly anywhere but QLD, they really dont want you there.
Pretty sure you aren't allowed in to Qld if you have been in Sydney.
Better off flying from Newcastle to Brisbane and then to Cairns. Not sure if you can get direct flights from Newcastle.
