the beats part of it just enables the front speakers (which are just a duplicate of the rear speakers).. it's not 4.0 or anything.. yes you do get the beats enhancements which make it sound slightly less pathetic than normal laptop speakers.. but there are others with better systems.. like some MSI's with a subwoofer
anyways.. the problem with this generation of dv6 is that there's no longer an optical sp/dif output even though there are 2 headphone jacks.. makes it a problem for those connecting to z5500's or what not =\

Nope. It makes it sound much worse than normal speakers when turned off.

not really.. depends on your adjustments.. u do get more bass and spacial enhancements.. and ofc overall volume due to 2x more speakers being on
edit: yes it does put the bass to 0 in tone controls.. but even if you put it back to full with beats off.. the main thing is.. when it's on.. the fronts get enabled.. that's it pretty much

Even though i work for MB i cant get it at the 880 we had it for before.. but for 959 (extra 160)you also get BluRay AND 2GB Graphics.
No headphones but ;)

I bought one from you guys and am yet to receive my extended warranty. The laptop itself is great but my experiences with megabuy are lackluster at best.
