I'd hope most Australians think the opposite.
One is likely a contributor to alot of people's super and a massive employer in this countryI'd hope most Australians think the opposite.
Why? Support a company that has sacked thousands of people?
They employ alot of people. Yes they closed some stores, people lost there jobs, Sad no question.
What do you think happens if you don't buy from the stores ? Only more stores would close. They employ alot of people
They also sacked a lot of people and closed a lot of stores… Left a big gap for their customers, especially in country areas.
@jv: It is the introduction of offshore companies such as Amazon which shifts spend online and away from bricks and mortar shops. Amazon and eBay would be big contributors to local shops being shut down. Why blame Target who needs to respond to these market conditions and protect local shareholders by mitigating their losses?
What do you think happens if you don't buy from the stores ?
Too far now to drive.
Will just buy online elsewhere and maybe Big W for instore.
this is really short sighted.
You buy from Amazon, all that money goes overseas.
You buy from Target, they see what post code you bought from… then maybe they might decide there is a chance to make money in your area again.
And the money is more localGood point and Alot more than that of course.
Supplier Reps visiting the local store, local suppliers such as cleaning, maintenance etc etc the lost goes on those staff earning money spending back in the area. This list goes on.
You stop supporting local businesses, you will cut alot of jobs off and out kids future jobs. You stop supporting local businesses
I don't think of Wesfarmers as a local business.
I consider my local shops that are owned by locals as 'local business'.
You buy from Amazon, all that money goes overseas.
Lots of aussie sellers on Amazon.
And the money is more local
Goes to Wesfarmers.
Wesfarmers is on the asx with alot or people super companies as share holders
@taoz: It's not my priority to make other share holders wealthier…
Local businesses is a different matter…
@taoz: Agree - Wesfarmers is owned by AUSTRALIAN shareholders; either directly through shareholdings or indirectly through super funds. The prosperity of Australian public companies is tied back to the Australian people. Furthermore as a domiciled company of AUSTRALIA, it is likely to pay more taxes to support the Australian Government. I know which one I would pick any day of the week.
But no free delivery
yes, true, in Victoria it was free delivery above $45
Good deal OP, but It does require co-mingling with a bunch of other Target shoppers.
