Just a heads up, Apple is planning a One Day Sale this Friday 25th Nov.
They usually do it every year as part of US Black Friday sales.
Generally discounts are about 8-10%.
Rare that Apple does a sale, so if you looking for something might be worth waiting till Friday
Apple Online Store, not sure if it extends to Retail Store.

I want an iPhone 4s, would they have discount on outright iPhone 4s? Anyone bought iPhone on previous Black Friday on discount ?
Same here, but it doesn't look likely. Apple said "amazing iPad, iPod and Mac gifts" so I guess iPhone is not included in the sale. But I am happy to be proven wrong.
iPhones never go on sale afaik, not even in USA (where black friday sale originated)
australia's black friday sale is extremely poor compare to USA too!i think its still cheaper if you buy macs from student offer in the school reopen period than this.

An iPod Touch 8GB on 10% discount would still cost around $197, whereas we've seen deals already posted here for around $188 …

Plus, with the exception of iPhone, which was not discounted last year, everything Apple sell with 10% off is still more expensive than street price.

Looking to buy an iPad and hope that these too might be discounted (Although I'm prepared to wait for Santa to bring me one for Christmas, because unlike me, Santa is not a bargain shopper and will actually happily buy things full price - GASP!)
But I'm interested to know people's thoughts about wifi vs wifi/3G. (Please feel free to direct me to an appropriate forum if this is not the place to discuss this.)
The 3G function does cost a lot (and I feel it's significantly above cost to Apple). But I think it's still worth it in my opinion if you're using the device on business trips.
PS: You can tether your phone internet to the ipad, thus bypassing need for 3G function if you have a "sophisticated" phone.

I personally have not done this, but I'm certain that you can.
In any case, certain versions of iphone can turn into wifi hotspots, which means any wifi product can use its data, including ipad.

Is the GPS will work if you tether thru 3G hotspot(for wifi only version) ?
If you have a smartphone then just get the wifi version, you can tether your phone like others have said. I do not see the point in having both ipad and iphone though. I am going to get an iphone 4s soon and an asus pad instead of ipad.
In previous years the Apple black Friday sales have been somewhat disappointing, like 10% off certain product ranges. Although if you are planning to buy said products anyway it might be worth looking at.
Would be great to see some ozbargain worthy deals though.
Can someone tell me if I want to buy a iMac i7 with 2GB VRAM which is a order system. Do I need to buy from Apple to get this system?
Just that I did not think DSE or JB HiFI etc do the order systems, they only ever have i5's in store. So when they do their 10% off which is a nice saving of $200+ I cant get one as they dont sell the i7 etc
