Hi the frame is made of high-strength aerospace aluminum alloy. We tested it, enough for normal use.
No idea about this brand, but this style is popular amongst hikers.
And bikers. I use a similar (same style, potentially same factory, different colour, different brand sticker) on my motorbike for traveling
thanks op. i got one to try.
I bought the same / an equivalent (looks exactly the same) earlier in the year. These are plenty strong but not very comfortable irl. I ended up giving it to the kids to play with. I would never consider taking it camping or similar - would be more comfy sitting on a mat or a log.
Are you a large frame? I have tested these and were very comfy, lightweight, compact and perfect when going bushwalking.
Thanks OP, bought one. Hope my backside fits in it.
These are a knockoff of the originals Helinox. At my hiking club many of us have the originals and some the knockoffs. The originals are still going strong and many of the knockoffs have failed. But at 20% of the price of the Helinox it is a hard call. It is generally the stiching and reinforcing of pole sleeves that fails on the knockoffs. My Helinox are probably 5 or more years old. My only complaint is the chair leg stops have been lost as they are not tight and cost a fortune to replace.
I was going to say looks like a Helinox copy. It's important for folks to know that Helinox use DAC poles for their chairs, and DAC are consider the best in outdoor poles (for tents, hiking poles and so forth) in the world, and they are very strict on who use their stuff, and operate their own factory in South Korea (and I believe may even own Helinox). Helinox may be pricey but the reason is the materials used. DAC also do the tents for The North Face.
(I used to be a big lightweight camper so got very obsessed with material quality for awhile ahah)
Helinox rip off
I've had a couple of these cheapies, good for the money, I carry them on the motorbike…
My first one I bought when they first appeared on the market, I drop into it too hard after a few drink too many times and the poles ended up poking through the pockets on a couple of the corners, I glued and stitched it up but it was always an issue, so I bought another… The second one was quite a bit better made… They've both had a heap of use…
Aerospace aluminium? Wtf alloy is that.. pull the other one.
Newdora, perfect for 'the explorer'!

Snooze you lose, will try and be quicker next time 😊
Quick review for those who were wondering. Ordered on Amazon on 28/10 and received 30/10. Packaging was as good as anything I've received from Amazon. First thing you notice is how light the pack is, it's very portable. The "600D Oxford fabric" is nylon/polyester with pvc backing, which seems pretty durable. Likewise with the alloy frame. As others have already mentioned, the weak points will be the pockets where the frame slides into the seat. The seat height does seem a little low and stability may be an issue, especially after a few beers in front of the camp fire. For $25 delivered, I'm pretty happy with the purchase.
look weak
