Virco C407a Gaming PC with RTX3070 $2539 + Shipping @ Virco Computer

270

Morning OZBargainer,

It's another week, hope everybody is satisfied with our last system deal. Throughout this week, we are busy building all of your builds. We are happy to announce that we have now completed building all the orders, and ready for the next batch. Tracking and invoice would all be sent out today, please keep that in your safe, we need that for the warranty purpose.

We proudly announce that we have received some NVidia RTX 3070, so we can offer the below deal. According to pcmag.com (https://au.pcmag.com/graphics-cards/69069/nvidias-rtx-3070-s…), RTX3070 is about 8% faster than the 2080 Ti. While 2080Ti is currently selling for around $1600 ~ $2000, RRP for RTX3070 is somewhere around $999. That’s no doubt a better value card for a mid budget gaming PC.

For any PC or components purchased from Virco, we provide a one year RTB (Return to Base) warranty. We are located at Capitol Square, Shop T15, 730-742 George Street, Sydney.

Full spec of this week’s deal as follows:
* CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 3700X 8 Core Socket AM4 3.6GHz CPU Processor
* CPU COOLING: Wraith Prism Cooler (Optional for Liquid Cool)
* MAINBOARD: MSI MAG X570 TOMAHAWK WIFI AM4 ATX Motherboard
* MEMORY: Corsair Vengeance RGB PRO 16GB (2x 8GB) DDR4 3600MHz Memory
* STORAGE: Samsung 970 EVO Plus 500GB NVMe 1.3 M.2 (2280) 3-Bit V-NAND SSD
* GRAPHIC CARD: GALAX GeForce RTX 3070 SG 1-Click OC 8GB Video Card

      • thank you for the feedback. Due to popular demand, we have update the system: Virco C406a Gaming Desktop with 600W 80+ Gold Power Supply. Hopefully this helps a bit.

        • I just did a quick research on 3500x and 3600. 3600 is much better as it has more threads, 12t vs 6t on 3500

    • Eh, 2060 Super and 2070 are basically comparable. Not really any weaker or more powerful by much at all.

      Definitely weaker CPU however.

      • Yes I'm ok with a 2060s, but would rather the 3600 than 3500x

        • For 1440p/60Hz at higher settings I'd be more inclined to focus on graphics card than CPU. E.g. a Ryzen 3500x with 2070 Super or 5700XT over a Ryzen 3600 with 2060 Super or less.

I'm personally using a Ryzen 2600 which I expect will continue to be fine for the near-term at 1440p if I upgrade to 2070 Super, 5700XT (or 3060Ti or AMD equivalent if rumored cards are released).

  • has anyone noticed that it says ryzen 9 3700x. Thats a ryzen 7. Even on the website it says that. honestly kinda sus

    • wops, sorry , typo. Updating now. Thank you for pick that up.

    • +2

Eh, I don't think it's sus, just a mistake. Most people look at the 3xxx number either way.

So a handful of users have gone ballistic, one saying 'if you use cheaper parts it would be cheaper' and the other saying 'it should be $72 cheaper [under 3%] with free labour', others doubting the store even exists or challenging the legality of being able to advertise.

Is this thread full of lockdown angsty Geelong supporters or something?

    • +5

lol, its ok. People allow to raise the opinion on what they find fit, as long as there is no personal attack its fine. We take suggections seriously, positive feedback can only make us stronger and better.

    • +1

My statement about this being OzRRP at best has been negged all the way down, so I don't see why you are fretting so much?

And don't use the wrong connotation. I didn't say it should be $72 cheaper. I said it should be even lower than that because that's just RRP.

No one including you has even been able to state the exact price for labour and when it should be considered a "bargain", so we may as well just post every PC build that is over RRP by almost $100 and call it a bargain because labour.

      • +2

Bargains can still be above RRP if it is lower than the going price… Supply v Demand.

3000s are in high demand with not a lot of supply. Well priced builds offer a route for people to obtain cards.

Most people who decide to buy a pre-built aren't looking at parts because they don't want to build it. Why do people pay someone to work on their car? Why do they accept being charged over RRP for parts? Your logic is flawed and that is why you got negged.

        • "someone to work on their car"
-That has set prices. Prices which we can compare to and agree if something is a bargain or not.

Literally no one has stated the bargain price for building a PC here. Literally no one. You guys are all avoiding the question. C'mon guys this is OzBargain. Why are you guys so sure that this is a bargain when you can't even state the bargain price of labour which takes place when building a PC?

I get it though. The majority has spoken in votes and that's what matters here. We will call it a bargain because labour.

Edit: Just to make things clear I am NOT saying that this deal is a rip-off. I am simply stating that this deal is not a BARGAIN (a thing bought or offered for sale much more cheaply than is usual or expected).

In order for this deal to be indeed a bargain, one must prove that the RTX 3070 + labour, is in fact a bargain at $1071.

          • @Outsider: What you are trying to insinuate is that for this to be a bargain it needs to be cheaper than just buying all the parts with a little labour on top. How do you fail to see the flaw in this?

What you should actually be comparing is other pre-built systems which due to their boutique nature are often considerably more expensive than the sum of their parts.

For the type of product this listing is notably better value than most system builders. Hence why it has been allowed to stay listed as a bargain. Compared to the current prices at the current time, it is.

Servicing your own car is cheaper but people don't do it because of time and skills required. Much the same with building PCs.

            • @Hardly Normal: Again, you avoided my question.

How much for labour is bargain post worthy?

              • +1

@Outsider: "What you should actually be comparing is other pre-built systems"

                • @Hardly Normal: Thanks for not being able to answer my question.

I'll just assume that RRP +$70 is a bargain for PC builds from now on.

                  • +1

@Outsider: Mate you made your first post about it and you have been told $150-200 is the a reasonable price by countless people.

Labour cost is moot to if this is a deal or not. If it is below the historical pricing for the same or similar item (which this is) then it is a bargain.

                    • @Hardly Normal: Yeah which was countered hard by other companies doing the building for for much less than that, as low as $40 and I came to the conclusion that the cost was heavily dependent on other factors. And that what people like to call "labour cost" is not actually all about the "labour". Hence you and I are finding extreme difficulty in answering my question.

If what you are saying is true in the sense that: no matter how much is taken into account as "labour costs", as long as the build is unique and isn't on for sale cheaper elsewhere, "it is a bargain". Then this website would be filled and bloated with stuff sold at Hardly Normal.

                      E.g this thing
                      https://www.harveynorman.com.au/asus-rog-strix-gl10dh-r7-270…

Is a "bargain" by your definition, as the only other seller I could currently find with 1 minute googling, is selling for a price like this:
                      https://www.jbhifi.com.au/products/asus-rog-strix-gl10dh-gam…

My bad if there are others I have missed, but online retailers like Mwave, ebay and the like seem to be out of stock.

Stuff just gets ridiculous with no fine line about the pricing on "labour costs".

                      • +1

@Outsider: Both of those links aren't well specced for the money based on the market so no they aren't bargains. They also aren't by a system integrator like Virco and will potentially use OEM or non-standard parts hurting future upgrades.

You are again comparing apples to oranges.

Look at the end of the day you can hold whatever whack views you want. Just don't complain when you get down voted for expressing them after many people have taken the time to try and explain why.

                        • @Hardly Normal: I appreciate your time and effort, you are the only one that has bothered to sit down and talk instead of negging and running away. I see that.

But I still just don't see this deal as a "bargain" when it's above $70 the RRP of the parts it uses… It's RRP at best mate.

People who use the whole It's $100 cheaper to build it yourself argument are stupid too. Not everyone knows how or even wants to build their own computer. Saying that is always followed by but it's easy to build it yourself which again is stupid because not everyone can for various reasons.

These people should go yell at PCCG and their absurd gaming PC prices.

      • +1

100% I last built a PC 12years ago when I was still a teen but now I just CBF and just happy to pay a little bit more to get someone to build it for me.

        • +1

Same! I built computers early on in my IT career and have moved onto the more challenging side of the industry. There's no fun in building for me.

          • @Clear: whats the challenging side? Consulting and Project management?

            • @Homr: Somewhat. I work with complex medical systems.

  • How is shipping handled? Who do you use for couriers ? Can we schedule a time? Do they call or just drop it off?

    • they use TNT, they mentioned that in their previous deals

    • We are using TNT for courier service. We can try to schdule a delivery time for you if you want to. PM us to figure out the time.

  • are we able to receive the retail boxes?

    • yes, what box are you after? I can try to squeeze into the computer box for you

  • OP can you comment on how 'secure' is your packaging? e.g. worst case: gpu snapping off the pci-e slot during delivery

also chance you doing itx builds in the future?

    • +1

We have been helping other online business build and pack their machines for last couple of month. I will say currently there is not problem on both packaging and delivery.

We like the ideas of itx build as well, but its not as easy to find a decent case. We have our eyes on inwin A1 Plus, probably the best, nice mini itx we have seen so far. Other than that, Thermaltake P1 case is very interesting, but it is almost impossible for shipping and delivery. We won't rule out the possibility of what we would build in the future, but it not something economical for us to think about in this early stage.

  • Hi Virco, I have sent a message to your inbox regarding some components. Thanks!

    • sorry, AMD Ryzen 5 5000 series is not available yet. There is no way we can swap the current 3700x CPU to 5000 series CPU, you need to wait for few more month for that.
