    7T not 7T Pro.

Bugger, I got too excited thinking that it is a Pro version.

be aware that the auto brightness on the 7t and 7t pro is really bad. I have the 7t Pro and at night the screen will become very dim, can't read properly sometimes even though there is light behind the phone. I have to manually change the brightness at night which is frustrated. Its a problem because the ambient light sensor is under the display its not very sensitive. It's a hardware issue and cannot be fixed by software, the previous gen 7 pro has the same issue and they still haven't fixed it. I guess this is the trade off of having the full screen display.

Oneplus know the issue and they have fixed it on the oneplus 8 series, by including a second ambient light sensor on the back of the phone.

Despite the auto brightness issue, it is a great phone. But sadly I sold my 7t pro because of this.

The most fragile phone i have ever used! One drop and lcd dead!

  • +3

    LCD? The phone has AMOLED.

    • LCD/Amoled..Whatever its called. A drop shouldnt create dead pixels instantly. And it spread to the whole phone within hours. Repaird the phone paying 300$ another drop and screen is dead again. Not a scratch on the outside. We are talking really low impact drops.

        You mean repaired I guess.

I use cheap android phones, due to a being a financial midget. Some of my friends and family have iphones, and they frankly are unquestionably far better phones.

        • I have learned its important to have local warranty support at least. I m considering an iphone now too.

      • Has anyone else here had the same weak screen dropping issues as Bargainhunter83?

Would the 6T be better in this regard as it uses a smaller different tech screen?

Check the oneplus forums. This issue is widely mentioned there.

I'd expect the screen on a 7T to be safer than a 7 Pro which has the curved glass around the sides. When I looked at the forum it was the Pro that I saw with cracked glass.
Though seriously, I've seen a LOT of phones with cracked glass. It's by no means a Oneplus exclusive issue.

I bought this same model (Dual Sim, Global model, pre applied screen protector) From Kogan recently to which I received a HD1907 t-mobile model (single sim with no pre applied screen protector). For my myself personally I don't mind once I converted it international model but just something to note from the stock Kogan are selling currently and claiming as Dual sim etc.

As for the drops situation I haven't had a single problem but I have got a Ringke fusion x case on it which Is a quite a sturdy case.

    • Does Google pay work after the conversion?

      • +1

Yeah no problems at all (running latest 10.0.12.HD65AA version).

Dropped mine many times. Seems okay.

I've dropped mine just once and a small distance. It's still ok.

    Really love my 7t.

Had a 5 before this, that worked great.
One day it slipped out of my pocket just as I got in the car and I crunched it closing the door. The screen still worked. My phone was bent and had a spider shaped crack. Even though it worked fine, I made that the reason to get the 7t.

Re: brightness control, I already had an app called Lux which I used from the get go, so never used the internal auto brightness.

Got my one today. HD1907 T-Mobile variant without preapplied screen protector. Although I can see dual IMEI in the system the SIM tray only supports one nano SIM card. This is simply unforgivable. If you don't support dual SIM just state it clearly in the product title. Don't try to lie to your customers and hope they feel fine about single SIM phone, doggy Kogan. I will return this one.

    • Had the same thing happen here, first purchase from Kogan too. I'm going to keep the phone especially with how long auspost took to get it to me. But I don't think I will be purchasing from them again, I'll just take my chances with eBay sellers for my next Oneplus.

      • Mine came in 2 days, I read some forum posts saying we can buy a dual SIM card tray to make it work. However I have emailed Kogan for return and refund. I'll submit a complaint to ACCC for this one.

        • Do let me know what Kogan have to say.
I did read something similar in the forums about the dual sim working but I also read there's a possibility you can get your imei banned due to the duplication of the same imei on both sims. Whether or not that's true I don't know, but I'm not going to risk it.

          • @Perrino: I think only India Tel companies do IMEI check. Others are fine with the this. IMEI by textbook is for identifying the mobile device. I saw some other phones having identical IMEI# for both SIM cards. Although it's ideal to have different IMEIs.

Anyway Kogan offered me $45 partial refund for this missing feature. Just FYI.

          • @Perrino: A dual SIM tray is not the same SIMcard twice. There's no duplication.
