I have never dealt with said real estate agent before and somehow they know my name. Don't know how this thing works but it definitely seems like an invasion of privacy.
How Did Real Estate Agents Know My Name in Their Marketing Mails?

Definitely don't want to give them my number too
They have access to the REA database with sales, dates, names, prices. The other list comes from open inspections where you leave your name and number and it gets shared in the agency.
well it doesn't sound great to me if the info there can be abused like this..
blame shopback!
maybe they absorbed another real estate agency?
u went to an open house?not sure.. haven't been to one in ages
I bought my house 13 yrs ago I sometimes get phone calls from one of the other agents who I didn’t buy my house from asking me if I want to sell, have asked to be taken off the list agent goes no worries a couple of years later I get another phone call will not give them my business if I intend to sell.
A 'friend' may have referred you, they get a commission for a successful sale.
Electoral roll?
Yellow pages?
Google?
A 'partner' of the Estate Agent who have your details?
A local charity you contribute to?
Council rates lists get leaked to Indian companies. Real estate companies buy these lists from them.
Your local member and their staff often ask, and record contact details when you contact them. They would know better, but don't give a rats.
They are told to add it to their party database, and possibly the council/state/fed one as well. These people are used to having open slather on the electoral roll, so feel little obligation to anyone's privacy. Even if they did, past performance is a good indication of future data compromise.
You probably ticked yes on a box on a form 15 years ago and they legally bought a copy of that list. When the algorithm starts predicting that your daughter is pregnant, then you should be worried.
Rpdata has all your information if you purchased a property in the last 20 years, most real estate agents have access to this data by paying a monthly fee.
Well anybody willing to pay for a subscription has access to that same info: Owner information, household contacts.
Maybe they have a side hustle as a physic.
Plot twist - your name is Hai, and they don't actually know your name
Don't they have a number you can call to ask them?
