Thanks OP, got it on Amex Qantas Gold/Premium
So cancel existing membership and rejoin?
You’ve got 3 months to renew or add to your sub if you save the offer, no rush
So ones this is saved to your card, you can take your time to redeem it seems.
I see expiration "20/01/2021".
Not convinced yet if it's worth it or not.
None on my 10 Westpac and Discovery but plenty of the Catch offer $30 credit for $150 spend. Always hard to find anything I want there, maybe on grocery run.
Is there a way to pre-pay 4 months worth of Prime? 4 months would cost $27.96, which is the minimum to qualify for the offer, right?
FYI it's still more expensive than the standard annual rate
I see what you mean, but that's calculated based on a per-month cost. I don't really need Prime all year; more interested in having Prime during the holiday season.
Got it previous time (and didn't use it) which was around this time last year.
Didn't get it this time.Frankly it's an awkward amount of cashback & minimum spend. Not saving anything on monthly subscriptions. But I guess it's $5 off the annual.
I got it on my Amex Qantas Premium
Is this a once-off $5 only?I remember years before I got credit up to 6 months of prime membership? ($5 per month something?)
One credit per card per offer
Thanks. This is also what I think so.
Hope they can bring back the original offer 2 years back: https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/391066
Seems Amazon are not as generous anymore :(Wow I suppose they don’t need to do as much to have the edge over competitors now as when they were first getting started over here.
nice find,
I did not get the offer thoughIt would be great if there was a way of splitting an annual membership $59 into 2 amex payments. Has anyone managed to do it?
Anyone got It on their essential Amex?
Got that card no deals :(
Bummer! Do you find you miss out on Amex deals because it’s a no annual fee card?
mostly I miss out, sometimes I get them.
I have had many good deals on my no fee Discovery.
I got it on my Essential.
Got it on mine but I just renewed annual Prime subscription not long ago 😑
Cancel and get refund from Amazon, then subscribe again?
Amazon was very good in refund for the monthly fee for some ozbargainers; so maybe it's the same for yearly fee.
Nothing on DJ card

Guessing any card that's ever been used to process a Amazon Australia payment will not receive this?
No I spent quite a bit on Prime day with my card and still received the offer
didnt get the amazon offer but got apple pay spent $100 get $15 x 3 on my biz explorer so im off to coles now to buy the coles prepaid mastercards.
Have Catch and Microsoft offers, but no Prime.
Same. Oh no catch either
That's a really weak Prime membership cashback compared to previous years.
2 years ago it was 50% back max of $30, so on $59 annual prime fee you'd get back $29.50: https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/391066
1 year ago it was 40% back, up to $25, so on $59 annual prime fee you'd get back $23.60: https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/469123
This year it's $5 back on $25 spend, so on $59 annual prime fee you'd get back $5.
That's a really steep drop. In previous years I'd try if possible to have an Amex open at this time of year in part to use this offer, but for $5 it's not worth it.
C'mon Amex, how about $20 back on a $59 annual membership?
It's actually 100% back, but up to $5 :D
If you want to be pedantic, this year is 20% back, up to $5, with a minimum spend of $25 to get anything (ie you get $5 or you get nothing). It's a weak percentage, a low max dollar amount, and a min spend condition, which combines to have all the impact of a wilted lettuce leaf ;-)
Was just being sarcastic.
But anyway, isn't Prime membership $59 for all? Why is there a need to set a minimum spend?
@browser: I know. I don't mind sarcasm, and didn't neg you.
It's $59 as an annual fee, or $6.99 per month. So I guess their thinking is that it might just be possible to pay the Oct, Nov, Dec and Jan monthly fees, pay $27.96, and get $5 back. It's still a bad way to do it, as you'll pay more per month than paying the annual fee, assuming you can use it throughout the year.
My Prime annual subscription doesn't run out until February 2021 by which point the deal is over. It is also a very pitiful amount that I could not be bothered jumping through hoops for.
Unfortunately I have already added the deal to my card which takes the offer away from a legitimate customer of the 5000 available offers. Does anyone know a away to unadd the deal to the card?
its spending on amazon prime membership
