  • Free delivery!
  • The best “unlimited” mobile plan in the market – it truly is “unlimited” for standard national talk, text and access to social networks

  • The new-generation SIM card is also iPhone and iPad compatible

  • Nicely, it has a 100% Australian-based customer service centre

  • No lock-in contracts PLUS you can keep your current number!

Description taken from undercut's previous Amaysim posting and Spreets.

Important notes/answers from last deal: 1 per customer, this is prepaid not postpaid, after first month it is $40/month, it appears it is a normal sim but can be broken into a microsim, Optus network appears to better than Vodafone, sim must be activated by Dec 21, 13,15 and 18; premium SMS; and international calls and SMS; and video calling are extra (not included in unlimited), you only need to use it for 1 month- throw it away afterwards or continue at the regular price

It's funny that you are trying to explain the rules of posting to the Mod. However, in your defence, the mod tag doesn't come up against neil's name in the post. Actually, I wonder why not when a Rep's tag can appear in the postings, why not a Mod's?

      • +3

Not really necessary IMO. A mod's deals should be on the same level as user's. No special treatment. In fact, the mod tag probably shouldn't be on any comments unless it is moderation issue but that's another issue.

  • what happen after 30days???

    • As mentioned above, you can throw it away or continue on the plan at $40 a month.

    • I wonder if you could use this deal for the UNLIMITED plan for 30 days, then switch to the amaysim 'AS YOU GO' plan. :P That would be awesome.

      • +1

I bought the cudo $10 the last time round, topped up another $10 (for international calls), and was automatically converted to the 'AS YOU GO' plan when the month was up. The leftover credit is valid for 3 months.

  • since it's prepaid I guess your credit expires?

    • And you have to recharge with the normal price.

  • +2

lookz like the Cudo deal some months back. But it expires in March 2012, this late Dec 2011.

Pity it's a new number and you can't just "switch" over.

    • +8

All new Sims will come with a number, but you're always allowed to port your old number over.

      • +2

All new SIM cards are actually blank (no number). You choose your number during signup… just saying!

  • does it work with iphone4 ?

    • +1

•The new-generation SIM card is also iPhone and iPad compatible

      • Cool.
        Bought it

  • Can I use this in a usb modem ?

  • do u know if optus still allow to call mobile number that allow free international call? like this company http://www.freecallfree.com/

    • Yes, they do. I am with Optus and frequently use international calling card, where I dial local number and then make international call.

      • thats not what i mean mate, check the link that posted

        • Ah. Sorry, didn't check the link.
Just tried to call the number provided in the above link and it says that the calls to this number are not available.

        • yeah because i remember read about optus banned to call that provide free service to redirect the call to overseas

        • You can try www.ozicall.com. They have recently found a way to use a 1300 number to make this work for Optus as well.

        • "13,15 and 18; premium SMS; and international calls and SMS; and video calling are extra (not included in unlimited),"

  • About to head away for a week and half so this will be great to use for mobile internet through the iPhone, thanks OP.

Good deal. Great for mates who are coming in Australia for holiday.

One per person unless you're getting it as a 'gift'.

Also check out the Woolworths Mobile deal:

    http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/56674

$12.60 (with everyday rewards card) for 5gb of data and some credit (not sure how much). Not a bad deal too. There are microsim versions and regular SIM.

  • +1

But Optus. Barely any reception, and if there is (in very rare cases) it is saturated.

  • Is there any credit for international?

    • you gotta purchase more credit if you want international calls/SMS.

  • Optus is even worse than Vodafail where I live and work…

  • Not bad to try out the network for a month, good deal I reckon.

After first month it is $40/month.

    Nothing to see here.

      • Fair enough if you are after a burn sim.

  • can you use the phone credit to call overseas until the credit runs out or will you be charged hidden extras?

Do I need to give my credit card details when registering?

And do I need to give something like 30-day advance notice to terminate etc.?

If answer is yes to both, then it is technically challenging to enjoy just 1 month free service then exit without having to pay the first $40 due, I think.

    • IIRC from the previous deal you only need proof of identity, e.g. a passport will do.

  • SIM card must be activated by 21/12/11, once activated, the 30 days UNLIMITED plan commences.

amaysim UNLIMITED is renewed and billed every 30 days. You’re free to cancel at any time which will result in the forfeiting of any remaining prepaid balance.

The $39.90 plan includes 30 days of unlimited standard national calls and text messages, unlimited national access to Facebook, Twitter, MySpace, foursquare, eBay LinkedIn and 4GB of data.

the offer is extended now for another 55 hrs

  • Thanks OP. Just ordered one for my Xmas road trip, basically for the data to be used on my iPad. 10$ for 4GB of data is a good bargain.

  • Anyone received theirs yet?

  • I bought the voucher from spreets but now have no idea how to use it to order the sim from amaysim.
do i just go the amaysim website to place the order for the unlimited sim and then on check out just enter the voucher details?

    • +2

      • Thanks for the info.
By the way, i bought 2 vouchers 1 for my brother and 1 for my colleague but i only received 1 sim today so i should receive another sim pretty soon right?

  • I just received this from the postie. It came in a A4 letter with a sim card attached, no retail packaging. Thanks OP!

  • When I go to activate it, it says the plan is "amaysim AS YOU GO" and no data is attached to the plan. It's asking for my credit card details. I haven't proceeded anything further than that as I plan to call amaysim customer service tomorrow to find out why the plan is different than what was sold to us by spreets.

Has anyone activated their amaysim SIM card yet? How was the process for you?

    • Plus I have no idea if we have to use the voucher codes from spreets. I tried it in the payment method section but it says it is invalid.

      • +1

Mine said the same thing "amaysim AS YOU GO" before I finished the process of activating.
But once I finished the activation process it changed to "amaysim UNLIMITED"

I registered my details, Then I got an e-mail to finish off the activation process.
        The e-mail states

Here’s what you need to do to activate your amaysim SIM – easy!

        Quick ID check (60 seconds)

Gather 1 primary piece of ID or 2 secondary pieces¸ then log in to my amaysim:

Examples of Primary ID (1 needed)

        • Australian driver’s license

        • Passport

        • Birth Certificate

Examples of Secondary ID (2 needed)

        • Credit card

        • Medicare card

Btw I did all this without providing my credit card details

  • THIS IS STUPID!
    hate the registration

  • Hi guys,

I bought this voucher but don't really know how to activate it. it came from the post mail. I followed the instructions to activate the deal on amaysim website but when I input my voucher code, it says invalid? Am i suppose to print this voucher from spreets and hand it to a local supermarket store to exchange for a prepaid card??? any help would do, thx.

    • LOL, Definitely don't hand it into to your supermarket. You don't need to enter your voucher code, you need to enter

The ICCID number (it's on the back of your SIM pack)

      Instructions are pretty clear, https://www.amaysim.com.au/my-account/buy/retail-unlimited?i…

      • thx for the info bro

      • Hi, i ran into the same prob as hotchili, i did enter the ICCID number at the start and i have chosen to port my number over and when i reached the payment options tab was prompted to enter the voucher number and voucher code is invalid. btw, i selected pre-paid as the payment option, should i choose bpay instead to complete the registration? I am totally confused with this spreet voucher code/number thingy!!!
        please help
        thanks in advance

        • Vouchers mean vouchers from 7/11 or the supermarket. You have to select either BPAY or credit card.

  • oh ok, thanks

  • more prob, i am still trying to activate the sim, after i entered all the details for ID check, i received this message "Good news! You're just 1 step away from being able to use your new amaysim SIM. Please make your required BPAY payment to activate your account. " Now, what payment? i thought the system would just recognise the ICCID number and that is it?
    arghh, please help.

    • It's probably easier if you just contact Amaysim. They should sort things out.

  • Just dawned that I was reading the old Amaysim offer thread…
When I activated credit was not applied either. Amaysim girl referred to a list of people who had taken up the offer and applied the one month credit. You would think they would have fixed things for the current offer, but it seems not …
