Where Can I Buy The Same Chicken Salt Used in The Takeaway Stores?

I know the supermarket sells chicken salt but they do not taste anywhere as good as what they use at the takeaway stores. Do you guys know where they source their chicken salt from?

Wouldn't trust a random eBay seller but they claim…

AS USED BY FISH & CHIPS AND CHARCOAL CHICKEN SHOPS

    • Thanks! Have you personally use it before? Does it taste like the real deal?

      • Nope, not used it but does look as yellow as El Jannah's. Can't vouch for them nor would personally recommend random eBayer though.

      • OP why don't you try it and tell us

    • Buy it quick before the chicken salt police take the ad down and sue the seller for a million dollars.

    • Yes, I think is this because yellow colour

I wouldn't put it past some shops of adding MSG to make theirs taste better.

    • Why would you think there were shops NOT using msg?

There's nothing wrong with MSG unless you're someone who has a reaction to it.

      • Like me. Better than a kiss from a great woman for taking my breathe away.

        MSG makes me gag.

But… I love chicken salt from take-aways and haven't had the gag affect, quantity maybe?

Anyhoo, google commercial suppliers, they wouldn't complain about selling it to a non-ABN holder type personage, the GST is still payed, just without the retailers mark-up.

This stuff is pretty good and you can get it from Woolies: Mitani Chicken Salt

    • Agree with tabz: Mitani tastes good and doesn't contain MSG or other additives

      • What's wrong with MSG?

  • idk about yours but my local takeaway sells chicken salt, tastes amazing i always buy it from there.

  • You want Krio Krush brand. I've never seen it in any of the mainstream supermarkets but you should be able to find it on Amazon, ebay etc

The closest I've gotten to so far is from https://www.ebay.com.au/usr/shanezjerkyzandspicez.

I also bought a bag of their KFC chicken salt, but haven't taste-tested that one yet because I just have so much chicken salt at home.

  • Mitani Chicken Salt - mix 50/50 with table salt for that chip shop taste.

Oh and cook them chips in Frytol for all the real flavour.

  • The canteen at our local footy club sells hot chips and everyone loves the chicken salt they use. Because they get asked so often what salt they use they now have an empty box on display at the counter and just point to it when asked what they use.

I purchased a box of the good stuff just the other week and shared it with friends/family - https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/3Kg-Saxa-Gluten-Free-Chicken-Sal…

  • My son moved to the U.K. and likes the Mitani chicken salt which we had to send to him as apparently you can't buy any type of chicken salt in the U.K.
