Noticed this as I was looking at purchasing some new knee sleeves. Pretty reputable company for powerlifting or casual gym-goer equipment. Definitely recommend anybody who enjoys different forms of resistance squatting to try out knee sleeves be it from Harris or another reputable supplier.

I already own a pair of their 9mm sleeves, decent value for the thicker variant, 7mm would be a good starting point for most.

Heard good things about owners of their belts, could be a decent economy option if you need a belt for powerlifting:

  • At what sort of weights/stage of lifting does this type of equipment become useful for injury prevention?

This varies from person to person depending on what level of lifter they are. If someone is just a beginner / casual lifter, I would not recommend knee sleeves or any other supportive equipment. My recommendation is to always rely on proper and strong technique, which is also key to injury prevention. Knee sleeves, belts or any other supportive equipment do not prevent injuries from occurring. Supportive equipment can sometimes be more of a hinderance when it becomes something a lifter relies on too much instead of focusing on executing the technique of a movement.

      • I would say wrist wraps for bench could be used for injury prevention. Most beginners bench with wrists too bent.

        • I think this comes back to learning the correct technique and progression. Wrist wraps may help a beginner but it doesn't teach them how to bench properly without.

      • You dont seem to understand if someone has a pre-exisiting injury using straps etc will help them do the exercises while working the muscle around it

        • My answer was in response to a question regarding injury prevention not working around a pre-existing injury. For any injury, I would not be making recommendations that should come from an allied health professional.

I dont personally use it for injury prevention, moreso to assist in lifting maximal weights at optimum.

    sigh

I miss doing deadlights, squats etc. at the gym

    • They are great, but take a long time to master.. If mastering the movements is even possible.

    • i'm sure the gyms will be open up again soon
