USBs are my go to when i dont want to lug a hdd or ssd around
Ive used it to play uhd movies on the TV, works well
They seem to be pretty reliable for me?
I mean it certainly shouldn't be your only backup but they last a good while.
I have some that are about 10 years old and are still working with out a hitch. Just slow as they;r eUSB2 and I use them rarely these days but occasionally drop a file on them for friends who seem to struggle with cloud links.
Size is the main reason.
or $23.60 directly from Amazon AU
I have the 32GB version of this. Speed is very slow. When writing, it starts at around 20-30MB/s then drops to below 10.
That sounds like USB 2.0 speeds. Are you sure it's this exact drive and your computer is using a USB 3.0 (or better) port?
Yes, exact model. Just bought a new Samsung flash drive, and speed is consistent at ~25MB/s, while this Sandisk drive will drop to 3-5MB/s.
Out of curiosity, what kind of things do people store on USBs of this size rather than portable HDD/SSD? I figured the speed and lifespan of flash drives would be a limiting factor at some point.
