witch one did you buy as there are a few listed
Sorry, the one recommended by porterble.
I have “the same” one https://www.amazon.com.au/HDMI-Switch-FiveHome-Switcher-Supp…
It doesn’t work properly with Apple TV 4K in particular. I go from Apple to switch to Samsung soundbar to TV. Something about that combination was hell.
They suggested I skip the soundbar. Uhhh yeah, no.
this the same? https://www.amazon.com.au/gp/product/B06WV5YJ6H/
They look exactly the same in every way and publish under many brand names. There’s no way of knowing what’s inside and what the differences are, if any.
@Untameable: Yeah it looks very similar. Maybe I will cancel my order and get the one mentioned below. hmm
I tried a LOT of cheaper ones and always had issues.
Apple TV wouldn’t work in 4K or be detected
PlayStation or Xbox issues
This one is expensive compared to the cheaper Chinese ones sold on amazon etc but works 100% of the time and it’s the ONLY one I have ever found to be 100% reliable at all times for all devices.
It also auto switches depending on which device you turn on etc.

Hi I don’t suppose you’ve tried Dolby Vision?
edit: I’ve emailed them to check. Also curious if they can be daisy chained.
This looks cool though thanks for posting.
i was looking at this one - https://www.harveynorman.com.au/alogic-5-port-hdmi-2-0-4k-sw…
anyone have any thoughts on it?
Its more definitely expensive than ebay/amazon/aliexpress options but I've never had an issue them and install them regularly - Bluestream https://www.blustream.com.au/new-page (or other distributors of course)
How much are they?
$200-300 depending on supplier. For example 4 in/1 out: https://www.radioparts.com.au/product/64537922/sw41ab-v2-4-i…
Yer too much for me sorry
Some of these switches are half the cost of a budget AVR. I’d be looking in to that, something with eARC. You won’t get HDMI 2.1 on a budget just yet but you can get 4K/60fps pass through. Really depends if you’ll be playing games at 120fps.
Is a AVR pass through equal to a switch?
What would you recommend in a AVR?
I bought the Yamaha RX-V385 for $299. It supports 5.1 Ch, 4K@60fps pass-thru eARC, 4 HDMI inputs, 1 HDMI output.
That’s a great price, I can’t find it anywhere near that
@Twisty: Keep an eye on https://www.excelhifi.com.au/audio-visual-receivers/ and you might get it for $399 refurb'd. I was lucky and scored it brand new on Amazon, I haven't seen it anywhere near that cheap since
You've got to check they support HDCP 2.2 to run true 4K
I have a couple on hand $15 each in Melbourne

???
cut for double posting
I have couple for $15 each in melb….dunno the specs but but can screen shot it for you
Hey there, did you end up getting a switch that is Dolby Vision capable? Which one did you go with as I am looking for the same thing as you at the moment and not sure I want to drop 130 at Jaycar…
Nah not yet
The only one I found that was good was $269
All good, thanks.
I've ordered one of these to test out and will let you know how I go:

Thanks
Hi there, I finally received this today. Works perfectly for passing through Dolby Vision, HDR10 and Atmos. Switching works well with the remote, the only issue I've had is with me specific tv Hisense Android RG50 where if I turn off the TV while it's on the HDMI channel it doesn't want to turn back on unless I reset it, must be one of the HDMI settings not liking it, however switching back to Android tv before I switch it off bypasses that.
I've got a shield Pro and Xbox connected to it with no other problems though.
Oh also auto switching seems to be a bit of a mess, but that could be my TV, it comes with a remote though so pretty easy to just switch inputs on that. I figure I'm not switching them constantly.
I can't recommend one yet as I haven't recevied it, but I've just bought the one recommended here:
