By 'sweet spot' I mean price per TB of space for an internal HDD. I feel like it is either 6tb or 8tb?
What Is The Current HDD Price 'sweet Spot'?

You can shuck this one. 14TB for $299.41. That is $21.39/TB.
https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/572428Good question Ned, I'm also in the market for a couple of internal NAS drives and was wondering the same thing.
Just go web sites like MSY or CPL and note the prices for a few sizes. Divide the price by the number of terabytes, compare the figures, and you're done. It's not difficult.
go to pcpartpicker and sort by price / GB
Try this for more info than you will ever need…
That is awesome, thanks so much for the linky!
Another useful thing with that list is that you can see if there are any significant savings by purchasing from Amazon US vs AU (just remember to convert from $US to $AU).
Once I find the Amazon prices I go to https://www.staticice.com.au/ to check for local prices. Using https://www.staticice.com.au/ before buying numerous items (not just computer related) has saved me quite a bit of money over the years. At least it also lets me confirm that the price I found is a bargain.
Thanks for this, 1 1/4 years later.
It's the thought that counts. Hope the info is still useful.
Yes, yes, trust your feelings you must.
