Hopped on the Lenovo Education Store to see if this was a good deal and while it's impossible to spec a laptop to match this one exactly, it seems to me to work out to a good $150 or so less than what you'd end up paying on there — plus this ships immediately, whereas Lenovo estimates a minimum of 8 weeks. Slightly frustratingly the listing doesn't give screen specs or battery capacity but I would assume the basic offerings for this model, 250nits/120hz and 60Wh respectively.

Also mind that for ~$300 more ($2,139.00) the Lenovo Education store has this model with RTX 2060 and 155hz screen ready to ship.

Also compare with this deal from Amazon US https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/563103 , which works out cheaper and comes with the seemingly preferred Ryzen 7 CPU, although Windows Home instead of Pro, no RGB keyboard, and no Australian warranty support.

  • When the Amazon prime started at midnight, I jumped on and found the Legion 5pi on sale for $1500~. Had the rtx2060 graphics card as well. Probably should have jumped on it :(. Woke up now and can’t find it at all. :(

    • I saw the same one — $1599 and basically identical to the one Lenovo has in their store for $2139. Spent barely a minute or so researching to see if it was a decent buy, and it was gone by the time I came back. Definitely wish I'd've jumped on it — even if I decided I didn't want it after all it seems it would've been easy to move along at a profit. Oh well!

      • $2699 it is on the lenovo store. It was the i7 version with rtx 2060 that was available

        • I'm referring to the (easily accessed) Lenovo Education Store where basically all models are several hundred cheaper than the default list price, where it's $2139.

      • Yeah, I feel the same way but the main reason that stopped me from buying is because I want the AMD version. It was announced sometime in September - same specs as this but in a 17 inch (and 15 inch IIRC) but thus far hasn't come out here in Aus. Kinda annoying because that's the model I'm really looking forward to, but the price will easily be $2.5-3k. In hindsight I should have been happy with the intel i7 and got it for the $1600.

  • FYI GTX™ 1660 Ti 6GB

    • Oops! Added to title.

  • 4.64kg

    • Huh? Lenovo's website puts it at 2.46kg.

      • Item Weight 4.64 kg

I'm just going off amazon description

        • Yeah, I just saw that. Weird, guessing that's weight of the whole package.

          • @crungle: oh ok fair enough

            2.46kg is still heavy though

    • With packaging and charger.
