Got this for my Switch. A quick Google search shows barely noticeable difference in speeds between this and the Extreme. Cost was just a bit more than the Ultra 256gb ($56) so why not pay the extra ~$6?

Was $86.59 in May, and $69 in Dec 2019 (when life was somewhat normal)

    Anandtech

    4k random read test:
    Ultra: 9MB/s
    Evo+: 13MB/s

    Heavy software read (adobe) test:
    Ultra: 17MB/s
    Evo+: 30MB/s

Evo+ are much better for loading games by a long shot due, good deal at these prices if you don't care about waiting a bit more everytime something loads.
This comment is from previous posts I've made

  • Anyone know what the write speeds are like on these?

  • Umm can't add the 512gb card @$79 is that a Pro version also? I think i missed out price is over $128

    • gone back up in price now sadly. i got distracted with the t2 deals and waited too long.

Got a 400 Extreme Pro for $89. Ta.

  • Extreme Pro 400GB @ $89 or 512 Evo Plus for $65
Assume final price paid does not matter, I am more concerned RE: Performance and reliability on a Nintendo switch.

    Thanks all!

Re the evo+ for $65, the picture is 512gb but the listing is for 256gb. And sold by a 3rd party, AZ eShop.

Quite a few ppl got caught out,per the reviews.
And someone even asked why the picture was incorrect, all the way back in Jan 2020

      Absolutely reeks of dodgy .

      • Great pickup! Agreed!
Even though it could be an error, better to be safe than sorry.

        • +1

I doubt it's an error. IMO this is deceptive

  • will this card handle 4k video on the GoPro?

    • it'll be way too slow. there's a reason why they never specify write speeds on sandisk ultra cards.

  • Thanks Op. Great for my Switch.
