  • Do you do installations? Quotes or recommended installers?

I live in a town house. I want to install one on the top floor.

    • Hi there,

Unfortunately, we're not offering installation at this stage but will in future via our website.

      Thanks,
      John.

  • Since you are an AC nerd, do you have any recommendations on a 7kW+ split AC? We need one for the living room + kitchen + walkways (bedrooms have small individual splits). It would probably be 75m2 all up?

      Hi there,

It depends on the layout of your house as well, do you have any large windows and facing west? I also recommend to go one size higher like an 8kW system.
If you have money to spend, I recommend Daikin as their outdoor unit's are really quiet when they're running.
But if you're on a budget, I recommend Toshiba as they provide 7 years manufacturer warranty!

We have other brands to suit your budgets as well.

      Kind Regards,
      John.

  • Hi.

I need to get one installed in Melbourne Metro, what’s your delivery price for a single story back to back installation?

      Hi there,

Not a problem, what brand and size of split system are you considering at the moment?
Please use our Air Con buying guide via our website to help you choose. :)

      Thanks,
      John.

      • Hi John,

Interested in this one posted 2.5KW, what would be the installation price be for that?

        • Hi mate,

Normal back-to-back (maximum of 3m pipe run) installation starts from $660 inclusive of GST with 2.5-3.5kw systems. We will update our website in the near future with installation options. This will only be available for Melbourne and Sydney residence only.

          Thanks,
          John.

  • Saw somewhere advertising a treatment for the condenser fins, reckoned it as especially beneficial close to the sea. Is that something you offer or/and would you recommend it?

    • +2

      Hi mate,

Unfortunately, we don't supply them at this stage. However I recommend Fin Saver spray, especially when you live close to the sea. It helps prevent corrosion on the fins and coils. :)

      Thanks,
      John.

I am bookmarking your website for future purchase. Going to need some Aircons next year when my house is ready.
    Cheers :-)

    • No worries, let me know if you need any help purchasing the aircons! :)

  • Looking at a split system for my shed (with lights and power)….whats the biggest panasonic you have that doesn't need to be hardwired back to base (Ie runs of a power point)?

    Thanks.

    • Ah, might be a bit tricky! Is your shed insulated at all, does it have any windows and what's the size in m2? Highest you can go without running a dedicated circuit would be 3.5kw system. It this shed your "mancave"? Does it have beer fridges etc? Any other loads? Haha

      • No insulation though has double walls (cladding + particle board). I have insulation coming for the roof though, its just metal and laserlight. Its not a huge area, two rooms of about (as its not a rectangle) 4mx3m and 3.5mx4m.

I didnt know other loads would be an issue, but I have (lol) 3 3d printers, CNC, drill press as well as computers and tthe like so mabye that may be an issue. I guess ill just have to pay for that as well - sigh - I just spent $3k on electricial work including replacing a switchboard.

        • Thanks Franc, I pm-ed you so I can help you further! :)

  • How do multi-head units work in terms of sizing? i.e. if I get 3x 2.5Kw "heads" do I need a 7.5kw outside unit? Or can I use a smaller outside unit?

I'm in a tiny 3x1 standalone apartment, so was considering a 7kw split for the open plan kitchen/dining/lounge (34m2) and then 2.5kw splits in the three bedrooms (12m2 each).

However, only one of the bedrooms would have aircon turned on at any time (one is a junk room, the other is a study). Would a multi-head unit be suitable?

    • +1

Hi there, yes if you need 3x2.5kw indoor "heads" then the outdoor needs to be around 7kw (as in not running 3 of them at the same time, if you are then get at least 7.5-8kw). So multi head will be suitable for your apartment. Just make sure that your apartment has roof cavity access for the installer to run the pipes, drainage etc.

The con is installation might cost more with multi-heads and if the compressor goes, then there is no cooling at all in your rooms. Except from the 7kw splitty in the open kitchen.

      Thanks,
      John.

  • Hello! Actually in the market for 3 units

2.5kw for the bedrooms and was thinking of a 5.0 for the single size garage (will be turned into workspace). Is 5.0 overkill?

    • Hi Cloudie,

Thanks for your message. What is the size of the garage and do you know if there's insulation on the roof? Any windows facing West? :)

      Kind Regards,
      John.

  • Hi John,

I have got 2 bedrooms (3m4m) and an open study space (4m5m) on the second floor, would you recommend to go with 3 split systems or a multi heads (like Daikin)? What size would you recommend for split? Thanks

    • Hi Qui,

Thanks for your message. I've replied back to you on our website chat.

      Thanks,
      John.

  • Hello John,

Do you guys have MHI Avanti Plus units? Heard they were more energy efficient than the regular models.

Yes, we can supply those units and yes, they are more energy efficient than regular models. :)
