Hi DC, Looking to buy some beans but how do we know/find out when the beans were roasted?

  Sure thing! Market Lane, Five Senses and AXIL are all roasted to order (so in this case roasted on Monday). Proud Mary is a touch harder to describe, they have a rolling forecast system. So for us, this means that coffee is usually roasted on Friday or Monday. All coffee is then packed on Tuesday and shipped by Wednesday at the latest.

    Yes that helps a ton, thanks for the transparency, I'll be ordering some 5 senses, so if I order on Sunday, they are roasted on the Monday then you ship them Wednesday? and that means I should receive them around Friday?

      No worries at all! yes it does - although it does depend where you're located. But generally MEL, SYD, ADL cap city addresses will get it by Friday for sure.

Hi OP, what would you recommend for a pourover from 5 senses? (Crompton road and Hi fidel sound nice but the 5 senses website lists them as dark roasts)

  Hi there, Hi Fidel would be my pick of the two. However, as you've mentioned both of these have been roasted for Espresso so will be on the darker side. If you send me a message, I can pop through some coffees from Proud Mary and Market Lane that would make nice pourovers?

Hi OP,
I'm keen to try out some new coffee. Can you recommend something mellow / chocolatey? Not sure if it helps, but in the past I've enjoyed the veneziano Forza and more recently Inglewood sunset Blvd (was ok). The Pablo and rusty beans that come with the Breville coffee machines were ok too. Generally they're described as chocolate /malt/nut cheers.
