With so many good laptop deals around at the moment in the $350-500 price range I don't see how this can be considered a deal… especially not with all the xmas sales coming up - wait for the boxing day sales to buy and you'll still probably have it in your hands sooner than if you ordered from CotD.

i negged you because you didnt provide any proof, i was looking at this price point for a while and couldnt really find much, you may want to upgrade your ram in the future, having 64 would be handy in that case as you dont have to worry in future… but yeah what you said is correct.
nothing now is a bit of an issue though.
Can I ask why the Catch of the Day site is not a good deal? I've just joined but I've been lurking around here for a while just reading your comments.
Because of three reasons:
1. They usually carry low stock
2. The items they sell are generally of questionable quality
3. They rely on bait and switch a lot of the time.
Ah. I thought they were good. I bought the Asus U31F from them and it's been great; didn't know they are a tad wonky.
What do you mean by "bait and switch" - is it sort of like if I buy the U31F it may or may not be what I ordered?

A sockpuppet? Wow there's one way to welcome a new member. I don't work for catch of the day; have nothing to do with them other than buying the Asus U31F from them. I was just curious because they are a bargain site, this is a bargain forum and wanted to know why wasn't that crash hot according to the members here. Nothing sinister about it.
Unfortunately for you statements like the one you made are exactly what COTD is known for, hence the "sockpuppet" detector is brought out… puts UFO back in his box for another day
I've bought a bunch of stuff from COTD and never had an issue either.
People on OZB don't like COTD. Usually for pretty tame transgressions any growing company will have problems with.
