Could you buy two of the single unit packs for $555?

    • that one is actually the CT8 which is the AC model

  • Bought and returned these in a hurry.

Samsung phones doesn't play well with AX. Was actually getting slower sync with S20U on this.

Also had non stop drops…. Never had much luck with Asus networking products. Tried many.

But hey, ymmv. I'm sure they are good for some.

    • might be the Samsung products

      Opposite experience. AiMesh worked flawless.

Just need to spend some time tweaking it.

Jack on Whirlpool is very helpful in assisting to troublesheet.

    • Asus networking gear works great for me. Samsung phones/tablet on the other hand, not so much.

    • Asus networking gear also works very well for me, and i use samsung phones, got a s20 plus.
Great speeds, but just need to tweak it alittle. Plenty of features both basic and advanced features.
      I run a RT-AX92U (x2) mesh at home.

If you are planning to use Ethernet Backbone for your mesh, then getting the RT-AX92U is better, in terms of coverage and speeds.
However if you attempt to use AiMesh with wifi protocols, it will take the wifi6 band (2nd 5ghz band) and use it as the high speed wireless backbone, which wont let you use the wifi 6 band.

However Zenwifi XT8, I believe allows Wifi 6 band to still free up, therefore you can still use Wifi 6 whilst using aimesh (wifi). However i never been a fan of internal antennas, always found their coverage to be slightly worse than a external antenna configuration.

  • Will 3 or 4 of these work together in a mesh?

  • Sorry to ask a silly question, really attemptwith this price, just wandering if I buy from amzon uk will the router come with Au plug and how about the warranty? Thanks

Don't get it from the UK - something about their WiFi not being as strong as for Australian standards.

The price from the US Amazon store is pretty similar (a bit more). Works out to be about 687AUD with delivery.

The US and UK work of the same wifi technology and Bands. If your going to make a statement like that, you should provide more information like a link to the source of the information.

"Almost pulled the trigger a few days ago for this UK version until I read the firmware of EU have lower tx power limit.
A few lines to enable max power, not same model, but should be similar, source: https://uktechhub.com/forums/topic/ax11000-uk-australia/

Thanks LongMemeroy. This is interesting, doesn't look like anyone has solved the issue. While I'm sure there is a work around for the issue, might be more hassle than its worth purchasing either of the UK or US versions. I'ld be interested to see if any has purchased the Asus Zenwifi AX6000 (XT8) router from the US or UK lately and is having any issues or if the issues identify in previous post exist with the US version.

  • This just shows how we in Australia get screwed on price when compared to the UK and US.

  • I'm thinking about purchasing this unit, is someone has one and is able to post a personal review it would be appreciated.

    • I bought it and it’s awesome. Though it’s just being 2 days …but it definitely has improved the rach and speed. I have 90mbps plan fromTPG and I do get between 85-89 mbps at 5ghz. Second node with Backhaul is like blessing to use even if you need LAN connect away from your point of Ethernet. Though just 2 days to has to observer to see how it goes. I bought it locally.

  • Really interesting to know if this router will be ok to use in Australia as well~
