      • Yeah, A to C is fine, no PD though.
Just can't get C to C to work.

        • That could be because your laptop can't figure out whether it is being charged or if it is charging a device.

  • i found you need something a bit beefy to charge it fast like a ninteno or llaptop charger

the 2a phone chargers are too slow

  • Thank you OP for flagging this deal.

Managed to order before picking up 2 12,000mAh ones, one of each colour, at Target Katoomba last weekend.

Have yet to experience paloverde88's horror story. Maybe because I have yet to really push mine?

Someone please correct me if I am doing this all wrong. But I thought it is best to try to charge my lithium-based power banks as slowly and gently as possible. This means charging them by the USB 0.5A ports or by a 20W portable solar panel (with the power banks in the shade behind the panel of course!). I also try to keep them roughly half-charged as often as I can. This means for 4-LED power banks, I would stop charging as soon as the 4th LED starts to flash, and I would stop discharging as soon as only 1 LED remains lit.

By sticking to the above, I have found the micro USB input/charging ports tend to break first, long before my power banks lose capacities in any noticeable way - I no longer consider power banks with micro USB-only inputs.

Having said that, I may push these Target ones a bit harder in the name of science(?) and see if I can replicate paloverde88's issue, and report back.

  • Just grabbed the last 12000 mAh Fast Charge one for $10 at Mowbray. There are some 6000 mAh ones left for the same price. I was disappointed to see the 20000 mAh one that was there a few weeks ago was gone. Might need to check in the city store. They were all still marked at full price, of course.

  • Based on paloverde88's experience, anyone has any experience returning? I want to return because usually I don't monitor when I charge my powerbank. Don't want to burn my house down.

    • Just take it back to Target and request a return. They should give you a refund.

      • Thanks. Will do.
