5m/10m Premium High Speed HDMI Cable w/ 90 Degree End - $29.99 + Delivery (Free C&C) @ EB Games

170

Ain't no kill like overkill. More longer = more betterer.

States Premium High Speed so I'm going to go with it being 4K 60Hz spec.

Link is for the 10m, also available is the 5m version for the same price: https://www.ebgames.com.au/product/nintendo-switch/256938-st…

Interestingly enough the 2m version is listed as $39.95

  • you can buy 8k for that price but it wouldn't be 10 metres edit but on reflection for a 10 metre allegedly 4k cable that is a good price in bricks and mortar.

further edit - not likely to be 2.1

  • No Xbox Series S/X or PlayStation 5 listed as compatible.
Doubtful this would be HDMI 2.1 for next gen features

    • Hard to tell but HDMI 2.1 have 48 Gbps speed and I've got my doubts about this one

      • Should be HDMI 2.0b certed if they are claiming Premium High Speed

      • I agree gonna stick with the Chinese 8k ones - excellent quality -but for 4k at 60 10 metres not that bad.

        • Which are you currently using/buying from? Thanks

@krez: Well there's far more cheapo's out there now - but unless you got an 8k telly or a 2.1 monitor high rez tricky to test.

Thing is if it doesn't do 4k on almost everything then its crap.

There was cheap navceker, ugreen vention unlink and even musou although those look pretty shonky.

Not recommending any seller because its buyer beware with all overseas purchases these days because of carrier interference. And that's a whole different issue.

    • Office works$8.88, goes good 1080p, apparently 2.0

The Premium HDMI Cable Certification ProgramTM encompasses additional and enhanced cable testing as well as an authentication and verification program for High Speed HDMI Cables.Cables are tested to ensure they support the full 18Gbps bandwidth from the HDMI 2.0b specification with an EMI test to ensure cables minimize interference with wireless signals.

The weird naming of these schemes will be the end of me, but yes looks like it will support 4k 60hz no 2.1 cert tho.

Honestly very good price for a right angle connector + 10m.

If you need both of these + the HDMI cert then I would highly recommend this.

  • As mentioned above, if you're getting a new console (or an RTX3000 series GPU) it's worth going for HDMI 2.1.

Personally I'm waiting for 15-20m HDMI 2.1 cables to come up at a decent price. Planning to wire some through my walls so that I can run my PC to multiple TVs in my apartment and play Forza/Halo/Gears on the big screen without buying a console.

I've been using the Steam Link app through ethernet and it works pretty well in the meantime.

      • Yes Steamlink has worked great from my PC to Nvidia Shield, alternatively the Nvidia Games app can do it with the Gamestream feature, but recent days the Nvidia app has not been booting so I've resorted to Moonlight to stream from PC instead, works just as good. There is a very slight delay but very negligible, all subjective to one's wiring setup and condition of course. I've managed to connect my Logitech G29 wheel to the shield whilst streaming Wreckfest and Snowrunner from PC using the VirtualHere app, it's very cool.

        • That sounds good, through the TV you can only use a very limited number of controllers ( basically Xbox 360 ones).

  • For that length, msy is even cheaper ($25 for the premium 10m) 5m is much cheaper. Anyone in vic can get it delivered for $5 extra

    • I could never get the MSY 10m cables to work. OR they would work and cut in and out every few seconds.

      • I have the 10m premium from them, haven't tried the cheaper one. It only do up to 4k30p, and signal start breaking apart at 1440p.

MSY HDMI cables are shit, still have a bunch of old 5m ones I never used.

      • Cheap cable does the job, as long as it's not too long. Anything 10m over then don't hope for 4k 60Hz unless you're prepared to pay for $$.

  • As I understand it HDMI copper cables 10m or more need to be fibre optic to provide 4k@60Hz properly, but expensive due to use of micro chips.

  • Is this HDMI 2.1 with proper 8K HDR with DSC support? At this price, it needs to be able to support 8K for XBsS|X and PS5 (not that I am able to get the pre-order of either nor have an 8K TV). Don't want to pay $29.99 for a cable without 8K.

P.S. I am kidding of course. However, this HDMI standard mess… is annoying

Sorry OP, I only use solid gold, diamond encrusted Monster cables

  • Better than low speed hdmi!

  • I would be using the original Xbox Series X HDMI cable with my TV, and this HDMI to plug the Series X into my computer screen 6m away.

I understand this may not be HDMI 2.1, but I would only need it to run at 2k up to 144hz - Would this do the trick?

    • get em to read what it says on back of box..
