  • "Plus, pause Wi-Fi to limit screen time for the kids." This sounds like a good feature, does anyone know if this can be done by device or is WiFi either on or off? Cheers.

You add devices to a list, and then you can pause them

      • So you can manage each device seperately? Happy to disable the kids from WiFi without effecting my own connection 😉

Yeah pause the kids devices manually at anytime or setup a schedule. More details here.

So you can manage each device seperately?

Yes, it is by device, but you can also group them and give them a group name and pause them or turn them on as a group.

You can even turn Google Safesearch on by group, to keep the kids safe whilst you can still look at dirty pictures yourself…

I wonder if JB commercial will price match TGG commercial. JB is $467 :(

  • Still very expensive considering you can get similar Tplink or Tenda mesh systems for less than half the price.

Do they have built in google/nest home speakers?

      • The wifi points do, not the router

      Way more features though…

Whether they're useful to you or not is another question.

One thing they dont mention is the router has only one port. If you want more than one thing hanging off your router you need to price in a switch too

FYI google are dropping / have already dropped in the US a cheaper version, of course with a confusing naming convention, being the revamped Google WiFi:
    https://www.theverge.com/2020/10/6/21504114/google-wifi-pric…

    • It appears it will have less features and less range as a cheaper 'entry level' version.

  • It doesn't seem very wise to me investing in this Router+Node package.

It doesn't support Wifi6, an they'll be bringing out Wifi6E roughly around the end of the year.

If you need more coverage in your house, get Xiaomi one for like $20 on Aliexpress.

If you want the bonus features, check your router page on 192.etc etc as well as the apps on android, they'll likely have the grouping features, if they definitely don't, buy a second hand router that you know has the features, then set it up as a repeater or something so it's on the network and you can utilize the manufacturers features.

    • I was going to use my old router as a repeater, and I did buy one of those cheap Xiaomi before, but the downside is that you end up having 2 wifi networks.

So if you walk from your bedroom to the kitchen, you might need to connect to another wifi.

This is something that I am not willing to do. Might suit other people or scenarios though.

  • I just want to buy the point unit :(

  • Anyone knows how much is the 2 pack nest wifi being sold on good guys commercial?
