Braun Series 7 Wet/Dry Electic Shaver Plus Travel Case $199 Delivered @ ShaverShop

60

Usually $499RRP. A great Shaver that I've used for the last couple of years. Probably one of the closest electric shavers you can get and doesn't irritate the skin. I'm sure others can vouch for this model as it's quite popular.

This is the Wet/Dry model, although the dry I've found always gives a better shave.

These shavers are indeed the bees knees. I have 2 of them, but the dry only model (one as a spare, since it's getting hard to find the kind that only shave 'dry'). For the record, the dry shavers are IMO better, since they can be operated on the electrical cord (if the battery is flat) whereas the 'wet/dry' models ONLY work on battery for 'safety' i.e. idiots who try to use it on a cord in the shower lol. So… if your wet/dry model has a flat battery, you have to wait for it to charge, or replace the battery if it is getting old, whereas the dry only model works forever on cord.

But the shave quality is excellent with the 7 series. The earlier series (3 & 5) aren't great though, avoid those… No need to go 8 or 9 IMO.

    • Great point, I had no idea about the charging difference! I use mine on charge all the time.

    • Running an extension cord into the shower - the mental image is priceless!

    • Would the "Clean and Charge Station" bundle be worth it at all?

Well, I have to say that I'm now convinced they do a good job. I was very skeptical about the 'cleaners', but having one for nearly 12 mths now I can definitely say they work well and do the job of restoring the shaver to hygienically clean each time. You only need to use the cleaner once a week, and as long as you remove & reseal the cleaning cartridge after each clean (don't leave it in the cleaner as it will gradually evaporate) a cartridge will last for many months.

Personally I think it is worth getting the bundle with the cleaner, they really work well.

        • Sold, thanks for the input.

        • Hey one last question, I can't seem to find the dry shave version, do you have a product code that I can look up? the "Dry" version is the black one right? 7840S?

@JustHereForDeals: Hi, here's a link to comparison charts for all the models etc. https://shavercheck.com/braun-series-7-differences/

Looks like only the Series 7 790cc (with cleaner), and the basic Series 7 720s (no cleaner) are 'dry only' models, and the new version is model 'Series 7 7790cc'.

That's why I bought a spare one earlier this year, the newer range only has one model 'dry only' now, and I'm willing to bet they will discontinue them in the future.

            Good luck on your mission…

  • Was almost in on the deal, but despite showing $199 delivered on the product page it comes up as $299 in my shopping cart. Anyone else seeing this?

    • The deal must be over. Product page showing $299 now :(

Don't worry, they regularly have these on special at a good price, just register your email & you'll find out when they're on sale again. As a guide, you should be able to get the Series 7 bare bones (shaver with pouch) at $199, and the version with cleaner for around $229- $249.

Thanks for the heads up mate! I ended up shopping around and was able to get it with the cleaner for around $207
