  • Maybe keen on floodlight but does anyone know if its a paid sub or is it cloud or is it local storage

    • It mentions Cocoon Connect on the page so that seem to be this https://cocoonproducts.com.au/cocoonconnect/

No floodlight camera but also no mention of cloud storage so possibly local only.

  • Any idea what the soundbar is like?

I wouldn't expect it to be amazing but might be ok to use with a TV in the bedroom?

    • +5

Honestly I'd suggest just paying a bit more and getting something nicer. The previous 250+ soundbar from aldi was really quite bad and nowhere near the similarly priced entry level Samsung sound bars. I'd imagine this one is even more ordinary. Of course, with aldi's return policy you could always grab it and try it.

      • And the Yamaha lower end soundbars go on special for not that much more but would be way better.

    • If you're gonna go budget, look at BigW.

      The ECO soundbar is OK.

You also get JVC and Phillips ones for about $110 or so, with a soundbar and a subwoofer.

Avoid cocoon! I have the doorbell and the outdoor camera. Software is clunky and video takes 10-30 seconds to load and when it finally does load, it’s too late and the visitor has left!

agree - had a friend who had the same issue - a piece of junk so he threw it away

  • Any comment on how the headphones might be like?

    • +1

If you're into headphones and listening to music at high quality they're alright, the noise cancelling is pretty good too.

For this price they're a great buy, but the ear cushion part isn't that big, still works just fine, my other half uses her pair all the time but i can't wear them for more than an hour, which is fine cos they're not my main pair.

      They're also wired

  • anyone know the quality of the TV mount and if it's a good deal?

  • headphone reviews anyone?

    • My mum likes them, and she wears hearing aids. For that price, a lot of the nc is passive from the cushioning but they play music…. They're functional.

      • What about calls?

        • Normally a set of headphones wont affect/block the bluetooth to the hearing aid; so her calls are probably unaffected.

          • @MasterScythe: She's never used them for calls - she puts the phone on speaker and yells at it bless
She uses these on flights. Well… When we used to fly…

  • This catalogue doesnt actually seem great…

The bunnings Click camera is proven, and is $1 cheaper.

Tv brackets are often cheaper on ebay or such; and since the cheap ones are steel; safety/quality isnt a worry.

The soundbar is beaten by BigW's entire range imo.

The headphones are probably the only possible OK thing, but throwing an extra $10 at them, can get you some good 'import' headphones with reviews, testing, and a track record.

No deal this time aldi, no deal…

    • …i might grab the digital tv antenna as i need one for my spare bedroom. $30 seems ok as i bought a similar one for more than that

      • Non active, and in that shape?

Probably just a dipole and a shitton of plastic.

If you have an old antenna cable and a coathanger, you can likely make a better one.

Antennas are fun things to build.
