  • A few months back I got Officeworks to price match mine to Harris Technology, who, at the time had a special on this printer. I ended up paying $75 for it, which will be $45 after the cashback. I am still waiting for the cheque from HP though, and its been at least 2 months!

  • I recently applied for a microsoft cash back offer and was told that I would get my cash within 60 days of them receiving my receipt. I think it's normal for companies to withhold the money for a period of time, they want to be sure that the goods are not going to be returned - faire enough I suppose. Just be sure to note the date you sent it in and follow up with an email or phonecall if you think you've waited too long. Good luck.

  • office works is having this for $85 dollars.

so $55 after cash back ~

  • Yeah, I saw the flyer at the local P.O. the other day. I think the P1005 is a run-out. I looked at the HP P1005 & P1006 with their cash-back deals a month or so ago, & decided to go with a Samsung ML-2010 for $49 with 1000page "starter" cartridge at Computer Alliance in Brisbane. Either way, a laser printer for around $50 or $60 is quite amazing value for what you're getting.

  • $99 for the black toner? That seems a little high, even by toner price standards, doesn't it?

I guess the toner would probably last years for the average home user (unless you've got kids, then maybe not).

Does anyone know if it comes with a the toner, like most ink jet printers come with the ink?

edit: sorry it says on the ad it does come with toner. but wtf is an intro cartridge? would you get more than 700 pages out of a full cartridge?

    • Laser printers commonly come with only a "starter" cartridge, with a fraction of the capacity of a "full" cartridge. This practice seems to apply to both "cheap" & "dear" brands, and both "cheap" & "dear" models within a given brand.

Very embarrasing when you're installing a printer "upgrade" for a corporate client, and you have to tell them to order a replacement cartridge a.s.a.p. so that they don't get caught with nil toner in their you-beaut mega-dollar brand new bells & whistles laser printer!!!

  • i bought quite a few of these printers for work.

we get these toners for $60 delivered…

i think a introductory toner means it's not full

  • I got ink for $66 each, Bought 10 of them, Submitted the codes to HP cash back promotion and have been approved for $500 cash back. That works out to be $16 per cartridge.
We have 4 of these printers so could afford to buy so many cartridges.
By the way where do you get them for $60?
