  • Still on Snapdragon wear 2100 though

This has the Snapdragon 2100 SoC. Best to save your money and put it towards a newer watch with an updated SoC.

      Ticwatch 3. That's using 4100.

  • These Gen4's had 45hz screen too, so they would have screen tearing issues.

Makes the lag even more apparent on these 512mb devices.

  • Avoid Gen 4 if its >$100

This watch is not a great deal. Fossil advertised it for $141 and fossil website has only a 3.6 star review.

    Will wait.

    "Free C&C"

Is this where they don't charge you for picking it up? Bargain!

    • Well it takes labour and time to pack and arrange the collection - especially in Melbs with covid

      • Surely no more so than in any other OTC transaction…

        • Barely any customers through the doors, need to cover staff costs.

The newer gen "Fossil Q Sport" was $120 a while back, and only got 6 votes.

I tried it. Sluggish, not very inspiring. This model will be worse, except for the prettier case.

Battery drain when using HRM and GPS is quite bad.

Regardless of specs, beware of the button placement.

I had the leather band version and found myself always bumping the buttons when I bent my wrist

    • try the right wrist 😃

I got this from the ~$127 deal and at that price have been happy with it.

Coming from a Mi Band 4, I wish it had also sleep tracking but haven't lost any sleep over it being missing (no pun intended :)
My main reason for moving from the Mi Band to this watch was just so I could send quick replies to messages directly from the watch which works well enough.
I also use TinyCam Pro on my phone and with a shortcut on one of the buttons I can (fairly) quickly bring up my front door cam on the watch. As for activity tracking, Google Fit seems very basic (as do the Strava and Runtastic watch apps).

Battery life I generally have enough to last the day. I have a fairly basic watch face, location, touch and tilt to wake, bluetooth, heartrate and activity tracking on, wifi and nfc off.
Most of the time lag isn't bad, though on occasion it'll vibrate with a new notification and I go to check it and it's stuck on the watch face.

Of course the price I paid influences my opinion of this watch. At $199, I think it gets to point where you'd be better off spending a bit more on the next Gen 5 deal which recently received some upgrades (including sleep tracking) or something else.

    • I got it from that same deal. For $127 I'm quite happy with it. Not sure if I'd pay $199 for it though.

        TL;DR version :)

    • try sleep as android

      • Yeh I tried when I first got it, but was too much effort for something that was just nice to have. The Mi Band just worked, SAA while it worked needed a lot more attention, as well as the battery drain being massive, I'd basically have to go to bed with a fully charged watch then recharge it when I woke up.

  • I got one in last offer, but Its not worth, it wont even stand for 8 hrs if you are capturing walking or biking
