I am usually too slow to post any deals, but came across this while searching on Amazon. Seems to be a good deal comparing it to past OzBargain deals.
Hopefully it helps someone out.

Simple swap of the gears makes the climbing ability much much better but at the sacrifice of significant speed. It runs at a snails pace once the gears are swapped. Wish the motors were faster. Even the top gear rally car feels slow.

They all are (aside from some RC buggy sets released back in the mid-2000s). Even if they had 10 motors on them (which would cripple the power-to-weight ratio), they'd still fail to keep up with a $30 dollar RC toy from Target.
You need BuWizz or SBrick in order to build some seriously fast Lego RC vehicles.
Damn I missed the all time low when I was searching for it. That's a pretty comprehensive review there! Thanks!
Reviews are pretty bad for lego….
Not too bad, about the average discount for this set during most sales. The all-time low was a little bit cheaper.
It's not a bad Lego RC truck with a movement speed a little bit better than the previous generation of disappointingly-slow PF motorised sets but sadly it has very little "off-roading" capability; it'll struggle to get over an incline of more than a few degrees. The planetary drive and independent suspension are quite notable and rare inclusions in a Technic vehicle of any kind and they do look actuate quite nicely when the truck is manoeuvering over uneven surfaces.
