28 degrees price protection

Hi all Ozbargainer,

I have been a long time 28D holder and sadly I have never aware of this great price protection insurance that was offered.
However I cannot find this policy online and was told by the call centre that they are no longer offering this.
Can anyone please shed some light on if I could find this on my online account or the call centre is telling the truth as I have never "apply" for this insurance.

Thanks in advance.

    • Ya I know, it's pretty confusing.

When I open my Latitude 28 account online there is a menu on the top of the home page. One of the items is "Insurance". Upon selecting this option the first line of the Insurance page states "Great news! Our records show that your Latitude 28 Degrees Global Platinum Mastercard already has Shopper's Protection insurance."
If you don't see this on your account presumably you don't qualify. I believe they stopped offering it a while ago but if you already had it you kept it.

    • Ya I think its real shame that I didnt "apply" for it given how long I had the card. Oh well.

When I click the insurance tab it reads
"Credit card insurance: We are not currently issuing new policies."

    • Same here, I reckon that means we are not covered. Damn!

    Shopper's protection is the best!

It's an option that you could opt in.
It's true that they're no longer offering new opt-ins.
However those that already have shoppers' protection enabled can continue to utilise it.

    • Gg, I didnt opt in back in the days.

  • Grandfathered
Those who have it continue to enjoy it. But can't add it to your card anymore unfortunately

    • That's unfortunate but who would have guess you will need to "opt in" to get it, for my other credit card all insurance was given to me by default.

That's because there is a cost to having the insurance. Whilst there are ways to get around paying that cost, I suppose they need u to opt in and agree with those costs rather than assume everyone wants that insurance

It is a shame… It was a great offering. I guess a little too good thus eventually cancelling it
