  • can you refil or do you have to buy refill units

    • You can buy refill units - we have not try to refill using an empty bottle.

Could you please share a link to your refill units? I'd like to buy some

I refill mine using foaming soap (30 soap/70 water mixture). Works a treat.

  • You can get the clear plastic lid off it with a flat blade screwdriver/knife etc. and refill. Bit fiddly but not too bad.

I've had this for just under a year (ordered off amazon for ~30 bucks). It's a great unit, really happy with it.

    • Had mine for awhile now too and that little plastic lid thingy is fairly robust as I've hacked away at it heaps using a flathead.

There is a Dettol one on sale at Woolworths for $12.00. how is this superior?

    • it's a xiaomi.

    • I had one of those and every now and again it would just dispense soap without me being near it.

      • Sunlight triggering the IR sensor i bet

        • Unlikely but can’t rule it out completely. I just threw it out because I didn’t trust it. I’m happy to push down the manual ones. I certainly do like the foaming soap dispensers.

    Shipping $14.95 …. not a bargain

This is $29 at Mumu life stores, theres one in the city on George st and one in Burwood, got one last week, its awesome!

    • Exactly this Xiaomi one? Had one already and broke it, but got used to it - I am after identical one.

  • Better off with the Dettol ones, which can be refilled.

Plus they use 3 AA instead of 4

    • +2

The dettol ones aren't foaming. I think this one looks nicer too.

Have had the Dettol one in the past, and whilst there's nothing essentially wrong with it, I prefer this.

  • No contact, more sanitary

Surely it doesn't really matter if you're pressing a mucky dispenser? You're about to wash your hands with what it dispenses!

Exactly my thought… Do we really need another battery operated device in our homes??

      • It depends on the device :)

If you want completely touch free experience for soap/tap phase, it combo's well with the Xiaomi automatic water dispenser attachment for compatible Faucet/taps, etc. Only an idea and obviously not for everyone.

I bought 2 of these foaming dispensers instead. Under $26 each delivered from Australian stock including ability to use normal refills. Also includes 4 tablets that dissolve to create 4 refills. Biggest benefit is the rechargeable battery built in.

BUT unfortunately it doesn't work properly during the morning/day in a brightly lit bathroom due to interference with the IR sensor. Works fine in my powder room which is windowless. So definitely be warned.

  • I have one of these, looks nice and works well. Fair points about price and alternatives, but I'm happy with Xiaomi. And yes you can refill with foaming soaps.
I'm sure it's been cheaper though.

  • The cheapest shipping cost for me was $27.95. No deal.

  • I’ve got 2 of these , 3 baesus and 1 blitzwolf.
I purchased around 28 each delivered from aliexpress.
The Xiaomi one requires you to snap the lid off to refill. It will break eventually that’s why there’s heaps of empty refill bottles for sale.

    • Any issues with them working in sunlight?

Another cheaper option here that is rechargeable. Might try it out with the 15% cashback today
