Its free on mobile.and you can play with people on pc

Yep it is. Although you get video ads between rounds on mobile, and I find it more comfortable to play on PC.

      • You do know you can just download Bluestacks(Android Emulator) and download it for free right? Theres only 1 ad at the end which is easily closed with the esc button on your keyboard.

        • I find nox better than bluestacks

Yeah I don't know why Stoz wouldn't mention this, they seem sus.

As someone who plays and watches much higher quality matches with the use of voice chat (e.g. Discord) or at least a keyboard with text chat, I would not recommend playing Among Us on a mobile device like phone or tablet.

When playing public matches it's immediately clear who's on mobile - they're either silent or monosyllabic, and have little engagement with chat in order to do some decent detective work. Those games usually result in multiple evictions of crewmates, and things are much more down to chance. There is so much satisfaction in half a dozen crewmates being able to piece together whereabouts and different peoples actions and evicting an imposter based on a relatively complex map of information. Or vice versa, being an imposter and blending in and subtly throwing shade on others.

If you've got anything more than a passing interest in this game, pony up 7 bucks and enjoy it so much more and support Innersloth.

Idk if im just broken but controlling the character on mobile is really funky. It's as if there's a delay from the joystick input or something.

That's not a bargain. That's the normal itch.io price for Among Us. Depending on the exchange rate on the day, when I bought it a couple of weeks ago it worked out to AUD$7.23 on itch.io against AUD$7.50 on Steam.

      comment sus~… :P

this has a drm-free download PLUS a steam key.. so it's kind of better than 7.50 on steam for people who wants it. and is worth mentioning, imo.

Drm free does this mean I can install it on my 3 computers at home and play with the kids?

        • if you intend to not pay for 3 computers and just want to play with your family members, you can do it for free with smart phones and host your local instance. you don't need to buy the PC version in the first place. just need every phone to be on the same wifi, then you can just talk at the dining table and accuse each other of the impostor :P

@slowmo: will do that, but using the computer may be easier to navigate. was just curious if it'd work

          • -1

@slowmo: You realize that this includes a DRM FREE download, thus it's readily downloadble and playable directly on your PC for free?

At what point is emulation-assisted piracy any better than just downloading the DRM free .exe?

            • @runean: i didnt talk about emulation, i said smart phones. which part of it says emulation-assisted piracy?

i didn't even talk about using DRM-free downloads that's meant for 1 machine for multiple machines, because I'm against that as well.

DRM-free doesn't mean go nuts with it. I lived long enough to see game makers that were once DRM Free embrace DRM because of the perceived loss of income and then i see this. seriously,

              WTH dude?

You are correct it is the normal price, however I figured with the amount of attention this game is receiving lately it is likely people looking to play on PC will head directly to Steam and not realise that itch.io is cheaper plus gives better options (direct download + steam key)

      • +2

        This.

I bought on Steam. Wish I knew about this retail option for the benefits of cost saving and DRM-free version.

  • I just play on iPad

  • This is a fatastic (although addictive) game. Been playing it recently a lot with friends during ISO. Well worth the $7.50 as it's a nicer experience on laptop, however the phone app works reasonable well also.

    • Been playing it recently a lot with friends during ISO. Well worth the $7.50

      Isn't that the Standard price?

  • This is the standard price. Silly people buy it on Steam instead of direct from the publisher.

  • +3

Play it for free with bluestacks, it's a Android gaming platform.

    • that's what I've been doing

I hate blue stacks its unnecessarily difficult to install and uninstall

Eugh can't believe I paid $7.50 for it on Steam instead of $7.00 here.

As an OzBargainer, how do I live with myself wasting 50c like that?

  • Is this available on Mac?

    • I think you can download steam and play it from steam, since this buy will get you the steam code too.

      • +1

        it's not on mac

        • can't you download Steam on Mac Book? I had Mac Book years ago, I did play some game on it.

          Edit:
har, did some research, you can't play it on mac. What a shame.

or you can do bluestack emulator on macOS.

          • @froddoog: Think of steam like an app store. Yeah bluestack works as an android phone emulator so you're pretty much downloading the phone app version with the ads. Not a huge fan, makes my 2019 macbook pro overheat like crazy oddly

            • @coupon-king: Yea I gotcha :)

I mean if people want to play games, stay away from MacOS.

        • can you still duo boot into windows? or run parallels? Is that still a thing?

          • @nerd1: it's possible but it's a lot of work to play a game that's very popular and most likely will probably be ported to mac. It's a lot easier just playing it on a phone
