  Can I take this one apart & plug the internal HDD into a SATA port? Thinking about buying this & swap my old Sata internal hdd with this one? Thanks in advance

    Did it for the same model and it works.

    However, note that the hdd will sleep due to inactivity for a certain time (says 10 or 15 mins). Then when you access the drive again it will need time to "spin up" the drive, hence there will be some delay.

    This is particularly annoying as I am now using this drive to store all the TV shows and movies that I have. When I am on the phone I tend to pause the show and then after the call I will resume what I was watching. Generally I will have 5 - 10 seconds of delay every time which have sound and no video.

    I tried all the setting which I can used in Windows 7 (i.e. hdd sleep time etc) and it will not fix the issue. I believe this is being controlled by the firmware of the harddrive.

      Try to download the SAMSUNG HDD tools from their website, burn a CD with it and bootup, there are lots of setting u can do with it, like noise level for example.

  Would be tough to get a price match. I rang HN Albury (02-60230800) and the computer section person don't know what prices are being charged at the sports centre. No contact phone either. Seems only those who are physically there can buy. Too bad for me :-)
