Looking at the Phillips 50PUT6103/79 for $420
50-55 inch
Needs to be from Brick and Mortar.
Not much clue with specs. Can't see much else that compares at that price.
Suggestions welcome or reasons not to buy the Phillips?
Thanks

Are you eligible? I'm trying to see how I could be but not obvious solution.
There's a post on how to join/eligibility somewhere but I can't find it right now. I'm a member through my Union/Unionshopper.
I didn't realise Philips were still in the TV game? Are they made under the licensed name Philips like Akai and Toshiba are?
No idea sorry. Although it's called a Phillips. :) It's this one. https://www.thegoodguys.com.au/philips-50-inches126cm-uhd-le…
I'm just wondering if it a cheaper TV, made under license. 20 years or so ago. Philips were one of the premium brands, and I think about 15 years ago were one of the few companies still making LCD screens for monitors. However you can't believe everything a sales rep tells you.
It does look like a Philips style part number.
According to the internet, the right to manufacture and sell Philips TV's in North America was bought by a Japanese company called Funai (who manufacture in China). It appears that the Chinese company TP Vision bought the rights for all other countries.
The company you remember as Philips no longer has anything to do with Philips TVs.
@pjetson: But are they any good? :)
@Fredorishi: I don't know, but TP Vision were found to be monitoring usage of their smart TVs a few years back:
The Dutch Data Protection Authority (nl) started an investigation into TP Vision's collection and handling of usage data in 2012, and in 2013 reported these are not conforming to law in the Netherlands. Through the use of cookies and logfiles, TP Vision was found to be able to monitor when a Philips smart TV is switched on, which programmes are being watched, which websites are being visited and which apps are being used, without clearly informing their customers and asking their prior permission.
GG commercial has the Linsar 58inch for $529 may be an option.
This is the regular GG listing https://www.thegoodguys.com.au/linsar-58-inches-uhd-hdr-andr…
Yeah. I saw that. Better than the Phillips? Why?
what are you gonna be using the TV for mainly?
Ended up buying. Seems like a decent TV. Main criticisms from others seem to be that it is limited with its apps but it's mainly being used for Netflix, YouTube and FTA for which it's perfect. Happy so far but only been used once!
Where did you get that price from? Seems to RRP around $600. I also want one.
