  • Fantastic price. Freight prices could be the killer for those who don't live in metro areas.

  • +1

Whoa, it wanted $15 to ship a $5 item to Sydney. =/
I guess free pickup is an option though.

  • Great price. Good find OP.
Metro Melb is only $5 shipping, other states not so lucky.
So best buy a few to make it worthwhile.

A similar item in Bunnings i recall is about $20 nowdays and free pickup too.

  • +1

$30 to deliver to Perth, Woo hoo!

  • +4

Capital City Metro Areas (excludes Melbourne, Darwin & Perth) = $10
Victoria Country and all of Tasmania = $10
NSW & SA Country, all of ACT & Perth = $15
    QLD Country = $20
WA & NT Country inc. Darwin = $30

  • yeah!! they are only around the corner from me. i run pass there all the time

  • +2

well i just bought 5 and because I live in metro sydney, the whole order only costed $35, you can't go wrong for $7 each for individual controlled switches. I see them at bunnings for $25 to $30 regularly so worth a punt. Hopefully they are a solid unit

    • Did the same mate… $35 for 5 delivered to Ipswich QLD. haha :)

  • would be better if it has more than 4 switches!

    • At least they're extra wide switches, which makes it great for those ultra big AC adapters that they love to use nowadays.

  • pitty indeed

  • Nice, just bought 5, stocking up, $10 shipping if you choose the non-air one.

These usually cost $30-$35 at bunnings or at kmart even.

EDIT: Wanted to say thanks to the Op

  • wow thats awesome. thanks a lot OP

  • Was only 10min walk away, so walked over there and brought 5… they had heaps of boxes at 9AM.

  • Thanks OP, was looking at getting just some normal powerboards, these will do nicely.

  • thanks just got 4. can confirm if you choose standard road freight it is $10

I declare this Bargain of the Day!

  • I am having trouble to register. Can’t find the new user registration page. Can someone provide me the link please.

    • enter your email address, click new user, then click login.

  • Bought 2. At $15 delivered this should be a good bargain as I've paid $18 for just one 6-way board in an Oriental shop.

  • Doh, I was in the area yesterday :P (I only visit the city about once every few months)

Oh well, time to see if any of the family want in on the order. :)

  • Bought one from Reject Shop for $10. Was really good and handy to have four seperate switches.

    • Did that have surge protection as well?

      • I recall it was a post on Ozbargain not so long ago (try search Reject Shop)
and it does have surge protection!

  • I am having trouble thinking if I can trust this stuff - Doss has only been around since 02, Belkin since 83; I don't know how long Doss have been making this stuff, but if it's really protective why isn't there some kind of insurance, as you'd get with a Belkin?

    • you pay another $50, I think they will happily offer you insurance

yet if EVERYBODY pay extra $50, they even get discount from insurance company!
they could even lower the price more! ;)

  • the Sansai 6 indivitual switch power board is $14.50 at local shop
so this 4 indivitual switch power board for $5 is actually not bad at all
and I could do pickup on both! good deal!! :P

  • +1

They only have 1123 in stocks….. quick and don't miss out

  • Just ordered 5 so i can change some of my power boards at home.
    $30 delivered to melbourne metro
    Thanks OP :D

  • Thanks Davo_4! Love a good powerboard sale

  • Just ordered 10. Picking it up from their West Melbourne store for free!
    Thanks Davo_4. You're a legend!

    • Can you pay when you pickup, or do you need to pay when you make the order?

    • Max 5 per customer according to their front page.

      • +1

ocujos is Dr Jekyll and Hyde.

  • Thanks OP! Great deal.

Although this is going to be Ozbargained quite soon.
517 units left as of now.

  • Just ordered 4.
    Lucky I live melb. $5.

I think Bunnings have HPM or something for $12 and $20 last time i was in.
Wide spacing will be handy with the fat wall warts. No Surge protection however.

What concerns me about this product is that it is called: "4-way Powerboard + Surge Protection". However, below in the Specifications there is no mention of surge protection and only "Circuit overload protection".
Overload protection is different from Surge protection. Powerboards with just overload protection are being sold everywhere for about the same price ($3 - $7).
I also had a look at the photo of the actual powerboard (not the package) and the only thing which is printed on it is "Overload protection". No mention of Surge protection!
    http://www.wintal.com.au/upload/sellsheets/PB40%20PB60%20SPB…
The obvious question is: would you trust this product to protect your valuable equipment?
And I guess there is a reason why it's so cheap.

    • +1

It's hopefully better than my generic white board thats been submerged in water & had various sugary drinks dropped on it (then again maybe that says something about the quality if it's still working)

    • Devices offering surge protection also tend to mention how many joules of protection they provide.

      http://www.radioparts.com.au/ProdView.aspx?popup=1&Category=…
      "1722 joules surge protection"

As nothing is mentioned on the RPG web site or mentioned "sellsheets", one may be able to confirm if anything is mentioned on the packaging.

    • Take a look at the picture and zoom in, it's surge alright!!

      • Yeah it says it has surge protection, but I zoomed in and can't find any mention of "1722 joules surge protection" or similar. Might be on the back of the box though.

  • 3 for $30, used priority shipping as it was the same cost as regular ($15).

  • Just ordered 2 - quantity available is down to 100-odd (under 110).

OzBargain… a blessing and a curse - this morning there were over 1000 available; had I vacillated for another hour I would have missed out (as I did with the TouchPad and Iconia deals).

That'll teach me to waste time watching downloads of "Housos" and "The Heart, She Holler" (which has Ren&Stimpy levels of twistedness).

    Fnord.

    Out of stock

  • They limited down to 2 now.

  • "Running out of stock! We've sold over1000 in under a day!" hahaha, love this place!

  • -1

dam missed out again. dam hogs

  • ordered 10 and payment made
but Order Status showing on hold
not sure if this is because they are out of stock now?

  • just gave them a call… all out of stock… its a clearance special so they wont be getting anymore and from what I can gather they have actually sold 53 more than they have ..so fingers crossed to those who have brought it that they aren't the 53 over sold ones

  • What a shame. Would've bought 5 even if they were $10 each, as these are usually quite expensive.

  • I assume a confirmation e-mail means a purchase went through, hoping to pick 1 up tomorrow…

  • ozbargained. doh!

  • great price. Combined my order with the 20 cent rechargeable batteries
    http://www.radioparts.com.au/ProdView.aspx?popup=1&Category=…

    • Do you have devices that take an N size battery?

Those batteries are not normal AA or AAA size

    • Are those for doorbells etc?

Where do you get the charger for those?

      • You can use a normal charger.

Just use a spring from a pen or some other metal piece to connect the battery to the charger

  • -5

What a crap, I was ready to click order but then thought I'd drive past this afternoon to pick up instead. How can 1100 stock go to nothing in a couple of hours.

    • It happens when people buy 5+ each. And there's been 2800+ clicks on this page.

    • Hmm, what's with all the neg votes for my comment of observation?

  • UPDATE: SOLD OUT!
We've sold over 1000 in under a day!

……and thats a post from merely 7hrs ago cries

  • aaagh NO I was getting an order with my family

  • +1

    Got mine today :)

  • I ordered at around 10am on Thursday 10/11 but I still only have in the order status: picking slip printed.

    What is going on?

Am I the 53 that will get screwed b'cos Radio Parts oversold. Hope not!

Now just having to wait for them to call me back to tell me what happened with my order.

    Anyone else got any problems?

  • Looks like I got screwed for not paying with my credit card. I chose the option "Call for credit card details" instead of paying for it straight away and I just got a call from Radioparts saying they've run out and want to cancel my order.
I said that was unacceptable as the site said ~400 when I placed the order and the stock figure was being updated throughout the day. They then said the site was updated each night - baloney!
Checking my order confirmation email, it arrived at 10/11/11 11:46am, order number 29621XX. The order status is "picking slip printed."
Has anyone placed their AFTER me, but received their order?

    • Paid by credit card and placed my order around the same time you placed yours with order #29621XX as well.
The site said ~400 left, and not long after I ordered the site updated to ~200 left.
      Mine arrived today.
Sorry for your bad luck, I guess instant payment is always better when it comes to OzBargain.

    • Just a follow up:
Got called at lunchtime and was asked for credit card details as they now have stock for me.
Either they've sourced some more or they've realised the error of their ways. Either way, looking forward to getting them

  • Hi Joe,

Finally heard from Radio Parts, I can confirm that I got screwed the same way as you joequimby (the same situation - order number, order status and choice of payment).

It is first come first served not based on method of payment. The confirmation of our order constitutes acts as a binding contract between us and them. But obviously they are $ first and customer experience and fair business dealings second.

At the end of the day, what's done is done. I won't advocate for them in the future.

  • +1

Got mine today… It only says "overload protection" NOT surge protection on the boards, however it does say surge protection on the cardboard box the boards come in. Also it also has RFI/EMI/FILTER….. whatever that means??

This is the actual product: http://www.doss.com.au/spb44-4-way-surge-protected-power/

    • We ordered 60 for the workplace originally, but they ring us back and said there is a limit of 5 per customer. At the end we got 10 units and they look study and only $5, still a bargain.

    • Exactly. It's overload protection only. I received mine too.
