[UNIDAYS] Aftershokz Aeropex $199.20 (Normally $249) @ Microsoft Store

130

After reading a few reviews, decided to buy this one for cycling.

Although we have seen cheaper, it's been $249 everyone else for a while. I was able to get 20% discount through MyUnidays Microsoft Store.
It's AU$199.20, free delivery.

Please, consider reading reviews and watching videos, including this one recommended by fellow OzDJ_ in this thread

It is not for everyone.

I got one of these. Held out for a deal for a month, but couldn't wait any longer. I don't regret purchasing at full price and have recommended them to my friends.

I've owned this for two months now.

Basically what I can say is that if you have a use case (cannot wear headphone/headset or if you need to be aware of surrounding while you listen to music), it is awesome. If you don't really need to use this under those use case, a traditional headphone works way better especially for sound quality and price.

Another happy customer. Had mine for 6 months I guess. Use for running. Replaced Jabra Elite which just blocked out too much noise it was dangerous.
For running these are a perfect balance.
      Highly recommended.

I've got these for cycling, they're awesome

  • Can anyone comment on sizing? Being a petite female I've heard some say to go for the mini size. Looking at these for running, so I think a good fit is crucial (more so than, say, cycling perhaps).

    • I don’t think there is a mini size. I don’t think it is necessary to have one anyway. The size if the headphones is just fine for male or female. You won’t regret it.

      • Other aftershokz models do have mini sizes available for small headed humans.

        • this comment made me lol. great info tho. ive got a pair, didnt even realise that they came in different sizes and i think a smaller size (just around the backof the head) would be good.

this is great for office, exercising, or.. anywhere really. but cannot hear anything clearly when there's too much background noise, e.g. a coffee machine, cars on a busy road, people talking near or at you. i often find it a bit uncomfortable wearing for long time even though it doesn't feel it presses too hard. also turning it up too high makes me eardrums tingly from the vibration and i uncomfortable.

as stated in the post, it's really good if you have a use for it.. and i use it quite a bit. found it to be very useful for in-office use for phone calls and online meetings etc. i often still carry proper earphones around as well for noisier environments and want/need to hear what im listening to.

even though single-ear use of earphones probably suffices in most scenarios, i think this is a great product.

ive also tried a cheaper knockoff.. nowhere near as good as the aeropex.

p.s. i think that this is good price.

Paid full price 6 months ago, no regrets, perfect for running or riding with audiobooks or podcasts, music is okay-ish but at least I can hear the traffic so the trade-off is worth it IMO.

  • nice. Thanks for the post, have had a search alert on these for a little while. Previously had the Trekz Titanium, thrashed them with many many k's on the bike. I didn't store them well so am not too upset about where they broke.

I had the version before (Air?).

They were great. I am deaf in one ear. I have a perfectly functioning ear drum but my ear canal was blocked from birth.

These actually let me hear in my deaf ear, for the first time ever in my life. So that was pretty amazing.

I originally read about them on a thread about PUBG - another reddit user said they were deaf but these let them hear footsteps and get situational awareness, so eventually I jumped on them. It was a real trip listening to all my favourite songs in stereo!

One pair broke on me (the wire broke at a weak point leaving one hanging off). The replacement pair they sent for free, I believe I left in a rental car but the rental company swear they couldn't find them. I didn't replace since they are pretty expensive.

As a user above said, if you have a use case they are great. The funny sense of having headphones on but being aware of your surroundings is pretty neat. Definitely a safety use case if you exercise a lot.

There is a sweet spot of sound quality and volume - too loud and they beat on your cheek bones. Too quiet and you lose a lot of detail. I actually found at the best volume for quality, they still kind of block your awareness of your surroundings.

I thought music was perfectly fine on them but ironically PUBG kinda sucked - the mixing on that game is all over the place, so to hear people talking, footsteps, etc, would blow out gunshots. And before the plane sound glitch was fixed… ooof. That hurt.

One down side. Can't lie down and listen with them very well - the band across the back of your head pushes them off the spot for listening.
