  • Even for the DR590 single channel?

    • +1

      Yeah mate, the whole range.

      • Does this mean it will be connected directly to the car battery rather than needing the 12v cigarette power inside?

      • Interested to know if you are hiding all wires front to back without using cigarette lighter or USB ports? If so I will book my Mercedes in.

        • Curious to know this as well.

        • +8

I would like to know so I can bring my Ferrari in.

        • Yes, the installation is a professional level. The units are installed and the wiring is ghosted from view.

        • -1

Just casually dropping that you have a Mercedes. Everybody thinks you're cool now.

          • @b2dz: Installations charges are different for some car models. Don't really care what you guys think.

            • +2

              @mr chow: Cool

Just heading to the shops in my Bugatti, back later.

              • @b2dz: love it that you have Bugatti, good on you.

              • @b2dz: Sounds like you have inferiority complex

                • @ln28909: nope. just comments don't really bother me but i have a little time to be amused by reading them

                  • @mr chow: I think that was directed to me

                    • @b2dz: my bad. ha. sorry was caught it the moment.

                  • @mr chow: I was speaking to b2dz there lol

You are all idiots, now get the hell out of my Rolls Royce!

      • You guys use fuse taps or splicing wires?

        • We splice into the wires and tap where required.

  • Interested as well but I’m in north west Hills area, a bit too far me.

    • We have an offer without installation that gets you a great price and the free power magic pro. Send us a DM.

  • Sounds a decent deal. Shame it's nsw only

  • The 750 2 channel is on back order. When will it arrive if I order it now?

    • Thanks for pointing that out. We got a delivery yesterday, they're not on backorder - I'll update the site now.

  • Is the extra money worth the 750IR version?

    • If you are an Uber driver, get the IR, if not, don’t.

  • Does anyone know how long to expect using this on the 12.5V cut off mode in hours? Generally speaking, assuming a healthy average sized battery etc

OP: I'm considering coming down from Newcastle for this one day next week. Just doing some homework to make sure it's exactly what I want and need (DR900s 2-Channel)

    • +1

The cut out depends greatly on your make, model and the condition of your battery. When it all marries up, we see customers reporting 6-10 hours without issue.

  • Approximately how long would the installation take?

    • Depends on your make and model, but usually around 1.5 hours.

      • I have a 2016 bottom of the range Kia Cerato. I’ve been meaning to get a dashcam for ages. Would the DR590 single channel suit?

        • For sure it’ll work

  • Is it free installation if only buy Power Magic Pro? Thanks.

    • No the offer is free install and PMP with the purchase of a camera.

  • I have BlackVue front and rear in both of our vehicles. I can vouch for the quality of them.
The one complaint I have is that I've gone through about 3 memory cards (non BlackVue brand).
They just 'stop working' and I get audio error.
Mine is currently unplugged until I get it resolved.
A bit frustrated.. not sure what to buy so it doesn't happen again. I guess I'll have to spend the $$ to get a BlackVue branded one (bigger than the supplied card).
    The product itself is awesome.

    • Have you used the Samsung Endurance cards? They're supposed to be the best, curious if those are also failing.

      • Haven't tried. I hesitant with all brands because I spend the $$ and then they fail.
I guess if you endorse this brand, I'll try that one next. What size? I want the largest I can use.

        • Ideally you want memory cards with good write speeds and are designed for continous write, not just storage. These are usually the higher spec SD cards and cost more.

          • @charzy: This is the one that I have. I would have thought it would work okay.
            https://www.amazon.com.au/PNY-Elite-X-microSD-256GB-Class/dp…

            • @JoeRogan: to be honest I don't recognize that brand and not sure if they'll have a tendency to fail early. I've used samsung and sandisk class 10 on 1080p recording and it's been fine. Failed if it wasn't class 10 though

              • @charzy: Thanks for your help :)
                Would this one be okay?
                https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Micro-SD-Card-SDXC-SDHC-SanDisk-…

It's the Samsung Evo Plus 256GB from the dropdown box.

                Thanks again.

                • @JoeRogan: As Click_It above said, maybe the Samsung endurance are your best chance to rule out the memory card being an issue. A 32b or 64gb at most should suffice for most cases.

                  • @charzy: Thanks @charzy. No harm in going bigger though, right? The bigger the card, the longer time I can go back to retrieve footage.

                    • @JoeRogan: I find I never go back to look for footage. Most dashcams these days will lock footage if there's an accident (g-shock sensors) to prevent rewrite (or you can manually lock it if you get into an accident).
1080P will give me at least a weeks worth of recording on a 32gb card, 30 min drive to and back every day.

    • I have no problems with Samsung Endurance or Evo Plus (Plus not the + version). My only complaint is the PMP being too effective on cars with dying batteries, it really does cut out when fall below 12V.

  • How much is installation if I already have a BlackVue DR750S but want to install the Power Magic Pro?

    • Same question here.

      • Hardwired installation is around $120

    • +1

IR models are for in cabin recording. If you’re an Uber driver this is handy, if not, not so much.

  • Seems like a good deal.
Does it matter if my rear windscreen is tinted?

    • Nope it’ll still record and see through tint

  • Is the installation process the same for PHEV?

    • Sorry, what’s PHEV?

      • I believe he is referring to a Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicle.

        • Oh, then, as I understand it, it's the same installation process.

An FYI email I received from BlackVue.
"The X Series models replace the DR900S, DR750S and DR590W models. As a bonus, the DR900X and DR750X come with a price drop compared to their predecessors.

The new models sport similar video recording specs, with the added bonus of built-in voltage monitoring and micro USB ports. The built-in voltage monitor will allow you to hardwire the dashcams without the need for a Power Magic Pro kit. The micro USB ports allow for easy Cloud connectivity via plug-in LTE Connectivity Module."

    • BlackVue DR750X Release Date
When will the DR750X be on sale? The DR750X release has been put on hold due to the worldwide pandemic we are currently experiencing.

Oh damn, gonna wait for this
